Had a great time here today! Nice large ice ring, that isn’t over crowded, which actually gives you the space to skate. All the staff was friendly and helpful, cafe food was tasty and reasonably priced.
Had my daughter’s 9th birthday here. We all had a great time even the adults! The party room and food was very nice and Hannah our host was so friendly and helpful. Thank youVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Me and my son love planet Ice Solihull he is training in ice hockey and so he has had a couple of courses in skating now has started doing hockey excellence and it’s brilliant . All the staff here are really helpful and Liz went above and beyond and helped me when my son needed his skates sharpened to avoid a melt down ! Thanks to all the team at planet ice
I visited Planet Ice to watch an Ice Hockey Match. The venue was easy to find with plenty of parking reasonably priced. The venue was clean, and well kept. The ice rink is large. As we were watching a match we were only spectating. The seats were not the comfiest but probably pretty standard for a sports venue. The bar was quite busy, but again reasonably priced. Staff were polite and seemed happy to be working there.
First time visiting here today. Welcoming reception staff, and someone is on the ice to help. No complaints with the quality of the rink or skates. Cafe is OK but limited selection. Shame the car park is so full of potholes, given the cost.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
We completed the 3 day learning to skate and everyone who helped us was really lovely. The instructors were so sweet and kind and the ladies at the main entrance were really helpful and accommodating. Really positive experience for us. The lessons had progression and looked like alot of fun. Really lovely that the pastry and hot chocolate were included in the lesson. Just what was needed after being on the ice. Thank you very much for a lovely and sweet experience for my daughter.
Went with my 6 year old daughter to see if she’d enjoy ice skating. Pros: The rink is very big and spacious. Ice surface seemed well maintained. Friendly lady on reception. Plenty of parking paid though. £2 for 3hrs Cons: The rental boots aren’t in the best condition. Had to return first pair due to damaged ‘tongue’ that dug in to foot. Biggest con though for me though was the cost. I understand rinks are expensive to maintain these days. But the open session for the both of us cost over £38. Around £15 of this was for the hire of the skates and the ‘Penguin’ for my daughter to use as balance aid. It’s a shame it’s so expensive and no doubt puts people off getting in to it. That said they do 3&5 day courses in the school holidays that include the equipment hire. Booking the block of these sessions works out more reasonable. So may come back in Oct half term.
Check out the Barons. It isn't quite like the scale of Hockey the US, but great value family fun.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Had a great time with my daughter ice skating today. The staff were all pleasant enough and the ice stewards were helpful too. We had some chips which were decent enough. For a different activity to do with the kids I definitely recommend.
Brilliant day out with the kids! Slightly expensive but there’s no time limit so they can skate their legs off! Nice little cafe that does a full range of food and drinks fully recommend the hot chocolate.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
