Very nice place, friendly staff and good food. Menu has some variety and a few different from the usual pub offer. Price is decent and worth the quality and portion size definitely on the large side!. Atmosphere is also typical and appreciated. Knocked a star for the wait...quite long in-between each meals, including for the desserts...
Visiting Scotland for a wedding, the Pitlessie Inn seemed like a sensible choice - and it really was. A great find, the owners and staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, and the room itself was very comfortable with an excellent shower. The food was great - it's no wonder the restaurant was full when I went down for dinner. Strongly recommend both the haggis pakora and pork belly, both of which were outstanding. Breakfast, which was included with the room, was enormously generous too and has introduced me to tattie scones and fruit pudding! Would definitely stay again if visiting this part of Scotland, and can definitely recommend a stay.
Sunday luncheon for two. Booking well in advance we had hoped for a lovely meal. This particular venue was for many years famous for its fajitas; sadly no longer. Limp soggy lacking any form of texture, these vegetables although hot were swimming in the hot skillet. Sour cream was brick hard and slice able, wraps obviously microwaved as they hardened on the plate. Not a trace of the glorious tempura vegetables of previous years. Astonishment continued with the same vegetables selection, cabbage, carrot. Onions, courgette cooked in the same fashion, accompanying a traditional steak pie! Beautiful beef deserving far better than McDonald's style fries and soggy stir fry vegetables. Opting for another venue staple- pavlova, sight unseen was also a mistake. In a Scottish February I didn't expect it drenched in soggy raspberries my least favourite fruits. We were sat beside a fire exit chilly but not nearly as cold as the disabled toilet, accessed around a large occupied table. Music was intermittent to say the least. Overall, not a experience to rush back to, or indeed to recommend.
Have tried to eat here 3 times after the pandemic but finally got here, the food was very nice only problem I had was the pastry on the steak pie was soft I prefer crispy pastry but the rest was delicious. The staff were very good even though there were only 2 people serving. Have now tried it and could be back.
I took the family just before Xmas and we were very impressed with the cozy interior. There was a good selection of Ales on tap and my wife hasn't stop going on about how good the Shiraz was. The night we went was very busy not a seat to be had. My son had the faitas and my wife had the steak, my daughter and I had the fish and chips which was lovely and fresh only criticism was the batter needed to be more crispy. Overall lovely experience, good food and decent prices will definitely be back.
Had a fantastic time at a Michael Buble tribute act. Great atmosphere, delicious tapas. Pitlessie Inn holds a special place in my heart as this is where I had my wedding reception over 30 years ago and it was amazing then too!
Fantastic meal as always. Went rogue on my food decision. Starters mushrooms and for the mains a breaded chicken with a tomato and mozzarella sauce delish. We have frequented the place numerous times ,never had a bad experience yet. I'm told the HADDOCK MORNAY is to die for. The icing on the cake was very attentive staff. Food & drinks: Fantastic meal as always. Went rogue on my food decision. Overall a nice local bar and restaurant, I have eaten previously not in this visit and the food and service was great. Popped in for a drink on this occasion. Generally a decent establishment.
What a find. Absolutely lovely lunch and service. The dining room was lovely and cozy. Really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning.
Once again a stunning meal, and there was 9 of us and it was busy. Restaurant was sparkling for Xmas and as always staff helpful and polite. Food, top notch.
