Excellent, fish always good size.and tasty, chips out of this world.Only place we go to.
Our regular fish and chips. Lovely food and friendly service. Love it !!Food: 5/5
Very expensive cod and chips for small portion!! £22 Better to reduce portion and prices… Cost of living crisis? What crisis?
Used to be the best fish and chips in the Yate/Sodbury area but sadly not as good now it is under new management. It's now run by the same people who run Frydays on Cranleigh Court Road and the quality of the food is now the same as Frydays but at Pisces prices. Frydays food quality is not bad but Pisces used to be another level and worth the extra expense. Little things like making their own chips from locally sourced potatoes, home made tartar sauce and mushy peas and a really great batter recipe were what made Pisces great but sadly now its just another fish and chip shop. Not bad but not as good as it used to be and not worth the extra expense anymore. You might as well go to Frydays just down the road to get the same quality for less.
Good traditional fish and chip shop tastes as it should do
What’s happened - from one of the best to the absolute worst chippy in Bristol! Cold chips, cooked in rancid oil, diluted vinegar to almost water. Truly awful - went in the bin, and I won’t be going back.
Just called in as Yate was packed, F and C was delicious, we will be back!Food: 5/5
Very disappointed. I was looking forward to trying the new Pisces this evening after being taken over by Frydays who are usually excellent. The chips were ok but the fish was absolutely awful. Batter completely hard and the fish solid and dried up like a piece of old cardboard. I think they must have had it sat around in the hot cabinet since lunchtime. If I didn't live so far away I would have brought it back to them. I'd far rather wait 10 mins to have the fish freshly cooked to order otherwise not bother. Has put me off going back there again. Perhaps the new management from Frydays need to better supervise it.
Food can be great, but standards are hit and miss. The amount of times I have gone in at 7pm and asked for a veggie pasty for my veggie partner and they don't have any in, so I leave and go elsewhere for food for the family. You would think someone could figure out when something sells out regularly from your menu, perhaps next time, you order more stock, so people that choose that can have it... Kinda sums up the place. Still glad they are doing well enough not to want more sales.
RIP pisces. Just chucked most of in the bin after picking through in case it was a bad few mouthfuls. Soggy, sad fish that was so over salted it was inedible. Without exaggeration, it was as if the lid came off the salt and they thought "meh they'll never notice". The chips were alright but also over salted to oblivion. I could have understood if it was just one of the meals but it was all 3.
