A long awaited, much anticipated visit to pips, and it didn't disappoint. Beware, the plates are definitely small like they describe, and it is quite pricey, but its worth it. The flavours are amazing, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into every detail. The desserts were next level and a good enough reason to visit alone. The atmosphere is lovely, design stunning and service spot on.
What a special spot! Wonderful service & a gorgeous, unique setting. We only had time for takeaway coffees, but my my what delicious iced coffees they were. We will definitely come here for food next time we are in the area.
Wow, what an incredible way to start our weekend. Scrumptious pancakes, the best hazelnut hot chocolate I've ever tasted. The circus carriage was so cute, warm and inviting and the staff were super friendly, happy and attentive. Thank you for a fabulous experience
We had a lovely afternoon tea and cake, the setting is absolutely stunning and the way it's put together was sensation. Well done guys!!! I wish the staff were a little more relaxed with guests and not so hectic and rush rush. The music was quite hectic and not all that relaxing, it was more hard core rock where the setting actually calls for classical or something smooth and jazz in the background. It was quite hard to talk over the boombox in the main dining area. I'd also ditch the private security style in ear communication radios the staff use, and lose the iPad for taking orders too impersonal. Note pad and pen would be more appropriate given the gorgeous setting.
Delicious food in an amazing setting. Really good knowledge of dietary requirements such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free - wide variety of food to choose from. Opportunities to sit in a railway carriage or bus so a really lovely novelty.
While travelling home from Devon we stumbled across Pip's when Google diverted us to save 4 minutes on our journey ended up spending an hour and a half here. One of the most delicious cakes Spring Love Cake I have ever had! Plus the coffee was excellent, the staff were very welcoming and they have a garden to stretch the kid out. Highly recommend detouring for it.
We went to Pip’s for a late Saturday lunch following a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint! We missed the main lunch menu arrived at 3pm, 30mins before closing so ordered from the deli/take-away selection but everything looked amazing. Food was delicious and well presented, and we also had homemade lemonade & iced tea which were great. Staff and service super friendly and accommodating. The setting is also really cool and unique with most of the restaurant inside an old bus and train carriage. A must-visit if you’re in the area or passing through!
Heavenly every visit! I've been to Pips many times pre covid regulations and since. I'm so impressed with absolutely everything they do. Whether you eat in or take away you are guaranteed perfection and a fantastic service!
Quality breakfast in a unique location. Home made beans, roasted tomatoes, bubble, free range runny egg, butchers sausage and bacon, field mushroom. Worth a visit.
We had an amazing lunch. Even though we were sat in the marquee area in December we were warm enough and comfortable - especially as lap blankets were provided. The food was all exceptional. The 'small plates', though designed to be shared, are really generous and DELICIOUS. My daughter and I both had the Mac & Cheese adult portion and child portion and it was probably some of the best Mac & Cheese I've had - the crumble on top was perfect. The salt roasted beetroot dish was also divine. My only regret was that I was too full to try any of the desserts. 10/10 for service too, all staff were warm, knowledgeable and attentive. Would definitely recommend. We stopped off on route to Devon from Kent so are unlikely to have the opportunity to visit again soon, which is a real shame.
