Was out with my brother's family and they took me for lunch here practically queued up waiting for them to open at 12noon! I'd never been here before so was taken in by all the Pinocchio pictures etc. The menu was extensive loads of pizza variants, 10 inches. I enjoyed my Figaro pizza and it was clean plates all round! It is like stepping back in time but I think that adds to its charm!
Very good food and friendly efficient staff. A little pricey otherwise we would have gone again during our one week holiday. Very close to the Priory
Well, quite honestly, disappointed. Firstly, I used to eat here quite often as a teenager and in my 20's when I believe it was run by two Italian brothers. It was amazing, great food and fantastic hospitality. A very warm welcome. Well tonight was different. I called prior instead of just turning up late, possibly as they were closing their kitchen, so I thought I'd check first. I was greeted by a very enthusiastic young girl who said, "no problem, as long as we get our order in before 9pm". Great, I thought. When we got there at 8:45pm, the young girls who were working there were very hospitable and welcoming. But the owner, a woman possibly in her 50's was present and glared at us from the kitchen doorway. We sat, placed our order with a young waitress and waited for our food. I ordered a Carbonara. When it came, there was no bacon in it at all, apart from about 7 of the smallest, smallest crumbs of bacon. I showed my other half as I couldn't believe it. Talk about saving money. So our children had a pizza and sausage and chips. As I was getting my son to finish his pizza, I looked up and the owner is standing 12 feet away, again glaring at us with a look that can only be described as "Get out". It was 9:30pm. She was glaring at us, no smiles, no pleasantries at all. My other saw her too and it made us both feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. My advice is, if you can't/don't want to be open until 11pm, don't become a restaurant owner. It was after all only 9:30pm. Otherwise, food was okay, waitresses were well mannered and warm, but got the feeling that they didn't want us there and the owner had no problem in letting her customers know. A proper cow with no manners. Nothing like it used to be as it is obviously now with different owners. Definitely won't be going back. Unpleasant experience.
Takeaway pizza and a starter- Hoped for an authentic Italian special experience. Very small pizza offered, about 8”/9” only Average taste but very expensive considering. “Butterfly king prawns” were like the £1 party pack ones from Asda or Tesco, in breadcrumbs. Very disappointed. Poor experience. Will not ever go back. I’ll go to pizza express next time !
Very disappointed, the food was average and the service from the young waitress was incredibly slow even though it was not very busy. And slow even just getting us desert menus and water. I don't think she wanted to be working.

Loved it food excellent, staff very friendly. Go every year when on holiday in Christchurch. And recommend it to families. Try the pizza heaven on a plate. Kid-friendliness: Have always been friendly.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Known about it for years but never had the chance to go. Great staff, very friendly. Will definitely be going back. A nice and simple menu with quality food.
Good old fashioned Italian restaurant just like mamma would make! Reasonable prices and friendly staff excellent food, a blast from the past.
