Typical pub food at the Picture House but the quality and volume are decent, especially when considering the price which is quite cheap. Service is lacking mainly because of the “order at the bar” policy but this is understandable, presumably due to dining and dashing. However, it was quite understaffed on a Sunday and ordering desserts would’ve taken a while since other groups had to be served, hence we opted out. There are TVs scattered around the pub and booths with mini TVs as well which are very handy, creating a nice sporty atmosphere. Overall, good value for money for a decent meal with fresh pints in Montrose.
I come here pretty often now, with friends or even by myself, and I always find it comfortable even when it's busy.nI always enjoy the food and usually order the burgers of the month- whenever I fancy a good meal after work. My favourite so far was the Hoisin duck one Jan 2026nGood prices overall and the staff are pretty friendly!
Had lunch here in August with my uncle and father, I love the atmosphere and the lady behind the bar was very outgoing and cheerful and definitely made us feel very welcome and we had a good bit of banter with us.nWe all had fish and chips and a couple of pints which was very good, nice and fresh and a healthy portion2 big pieces of fish.nHighly recommend a visit if your in the area it's a nice pub/place to socialise or just chill out with a few drinks.
Service was good , food was average. This place was quiet.
Pub serving mostly deep fried food. Good option for nice portion of pub grub- don't expect too many vegetables. Sometimes busy, sometimes quiet. Kid and dog friendly.
