Really lovely place to spend the day. More of a country house than a castle, you can get a tour of the house by a volunteer for an extra cost and there's some really stunning rooms but its quite rushed and you can't go in mist of the rooms. Secret Owl Garden is fantastic, really lovely knowledgeable staff and you get to wear a glove and fly one of the owls. Cafe shut in the winter so bring lunch, they only have coffee and biscuits!

Nice afternoon out. Really enjoyed the owls. Juggling the dog with the tour times was a little difficult; you have to book in arrival and they are fairly inflexible with tour numbers and the difference between a age 14 'child' and age 17 adult.

Well worth a visit all year round Restaurant , art gallery and gift shop Walled garden and bird sanctuary a must visit. You could quiet easily spend a day here .

Gorgeous castle, beautiful restaurant on site, shop with lovely gifts and there's an owl sanctuary. Enough said.
