Ann's Pasties are famous. And this place here serves them. Naturally we've had to try them. Located on the busy Church street it's impossible to miss. Very friendly staff, a nice setting with some tables outside to watch the world go by. Fair prices as well and dogfriendly. A sunny day, so we took a table outside. Ordered the classic cornish pasty with steak filling. And it was a fine pasty. But not the best we've ever had. The pasty could have been crispier, the filling a bit more spiced up. Did taste a bit bland. But recipes are different, tastes are different. It was good - but not great. Nice was the size, a really big pasty with lots of stuffing. It's really a whole meal for itself. All in all still a fine visit. The location was great, we enjoyed sitting down and to watch all the action.
We ordered two sourdough toasts and unfortunately these were the worst toasts we have ever had. Avocado was hard and not ready to smash or eat and the egg was hard boiled inside I suppose it was boiled in microwave which basically made it all dry and tasteless. Sooo disappointing! There is nothing worse than a bad breakfast & wasted money to start a day. On top of that the only toilet was out of use. At least coffee was ok.
We were lured in by appetising looking Cornish Pasties under a heat lamp. This was a classic case of looking good enough to eat but being sadly mistaken. The steak pasties were cold which apparently is due to tax purposes?? The pasties were allegedly heated up but were still cold. 3 pasties & 3 drinks cost just shy of £30 but to be honest weren't worth £3. My advice is walk further down the street & try Rowes.
Good Grief OMG ... just had a traditional cornish meat pasty at Picnic on Church St, Falmouth ... it was THE best pasty Ive ever had .. I'd have taken a photo, but couldn't stop scoffing it. Despite it being very filling I am very tempted to re-visit later today and have another!
Service lacklustre and very, very slow. Food eventually arrived not as advertised no side salad with the pasty. Drinks arrived in bottles with no cups. Pasty oversalted, and a bit stodgy. Turns out we were charged less than the advertised price, but this was not mentioned at the till. My egg sandwich was ok; a roll not a sandwich, but ok. Response when we queried the shortfalls was a shrug, and no action. A joyless experience. Falmouth has many better offerings.
Me and my girlfriend was on holiday and whent to the cafe for a slice of cake and drinks. We'll where do I start it took ages to get served and the staff where rude and looked like didn't want too be there. When the cake arrived it wrong my girlfriend whent back inside too get it swapped and all she got was attitude and when it was brought back out finally it was slammed on the table with attitude which wasn't appicated. Will not be visiting again!!.
The best sausage, egg and bacon roll I've ever eaten. Consistent too, this isn't my first time being impressed. Great coffee, nice staff, no pretentious coffee attitude, and a nice place to watch Falmouth go by. Seagull skulking around on the signage made me watch my sausage, but he behaved until I'd left.
Popped in for a takeaway sandwich. Had a personalised vegan one made for me and my partner had the salmon and egg. Both absolutely delicious, fresh, full of stuff and filling. I would say we inhaled them! We usually have the vegan pasties which are the biggest and best in town
The food was not very good and the service was externally poor. We asked the lady at the counter to clear a very dirty table which seemed to be an issue. The table was cleared but left dirty with crumbs and drink stains. Not a smile or welcoming feeling at any point. Ordered three sandwiches which took over 20 mins to turn up and were terribly made. Un-grilled halloumi and a salad so salty it could not be eaten. Had originally ordered an egg sandwich to which we were told they had run out of eggs not a problem, these things happen in the busy seasons. However as I went to use the restroom I spotted a large pallet of fresh eggs on the side. Very disappointed. The particular member of staff who served us was particularly un engaged and rude. She seemed more focused on her phone than running what should have been a lovely cafe.
Absolutely the most hopeless cafe. Seemed incapable of dealing with more then one customer at a time. Coffee took ages to arrive and was luke warm. The toast took even longer and other people were receiving food who ordered well after us. Served toast with jam but told did not have any butter. They seemed to think that was fine, really couldn’t care less. There are so many really great cafes in Falmouth - this is not one of them.
