Food was beautiful, however good sales technique on selling a "really good white" to go with the seafood except 2 glasses for almost £20???? That's the price of a bottle! Service is normally slow but was on point this time. But yes. No more wine pairing without warning of price thanks v
Family gathering after the elder daughter's graduation. Fabulous welcome, treatment and enjoyment. Can't praise the staff enough and the food was equally as good. Every dish from starter to dessert was quality offering. You do pay more than some high street chains but it was really worth it. And getting loyalty points on top is a bonus
Fantastic bar with many options and able to shake mixers not on the menu. Could have a tad bigger selection of gins but that's personal preference. Great food. It's not a cheap place but all aspects ambiance, service, drinks and food were top game.
Second time we've been where the service has been very poor. Not many other people in the restaurant but staff basically ignored our party of 11 until we flagged them down to order food. Same when we asked for the bill: despite then being the only people left in the restaurant I gave up waiting after 20 minutes and went to the till, only to be rudely told that the waiter was 'getting round to it'. The food is usually very good and we have had good service before but it seems very hit-and-miss.
On the day before the great North run. People wanting to carb load. They didn't have enough staff on and so the service was slow. Gave us two free bread platters and free round of drinks for the long wait. Food was good when it finally came. Fire alarm went off. When got the bill they had put on the free bread and free drinks. But they removed that. Would of been higher rating if it was not having to wait so long.
Just back from lunch at Piccolino. We enjoyed the 2 course Quick Lunch menu, and I mean enjoyed it. For £15 each we had 2 starters and 2 mains and given the comparison in price between the quick lunch and 'proper' menu expected smaller portions - if they were then I dread to think what the full size would be like! Food was excellent, service first class right from entering and as it's my birthday they even threw in some complimentary chocs for me which were absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend a visit and will def be returning
