Friendly staff; tastiest bread ; very good food for lunch, dinner or take out... Good atmosphere to relax after a walk around Phoenix park Food: 5/5
Beautiful cafe & grounds, amazing tasty food. Highly recommend coming here
Last time I was there was the end of the summer. They have inside seating upstairs, in which I didn't view. I ate lunch outside, and it's a large courtyard. I loved the food, it was delicious and lots of vegetarian options. I highly recommend visiting this spot whenever you're in the area. It's also situated in one of the largest parks in Europe. So your can walk off your lunch, and there's a zoo as well nearby.
Pretty nice cafe especially if you're planning to go for a walk in the Phoenix Park and in general it has a calm environment to it however there is quite a limited selection of food and can be pricey at times probably due to it being part of a visitor attraction. Yesterday I got a cappucino and a fruit scone with cream and strawberry jam which was delicious, however I've heard from others that have eaten here before that the food sometimes isn't as fresh during the afternoon so it's something to consider if you plan to visit there Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pasties, lunch etc Parking: Outside Ashtown Castle Dietary restrictions: Gluten free choices, vegan options
I don't know if there was a mix up about a booking or what nobody offered any explanation but the man who apparently asked for the tables in the area was quite boorish about it he took a chair from my table without asking if that was okay and then sat at the side watching everyone. It was like he and the staff couldn't get us out fast enough, with staff hovering, clearing tables immediately, reserved signs being put on the tables by the man, not the staff, before we had finished our food and coffees, and staff moving furniture around and right beside us, as well as asking us to move our table. I've never had an experience like it anywhere else. We and the three ladies beside us were made to feel very unwelcome. We did express our dissatisfaction to staff members. It didn't stop the above behaviour.
Delicious baked goods. Coffee and tea available. Great spot to grab a quick bite to eat. There is free parking available and the visitor centre is just across the courtyard. Prices are reasonable and quantities and quality appear to be high.
As the cafe is inside the beautiful Phoenix Park, I liked it very much. You can get a variety of foods here, like chicken curry, smoked salmon, salads, chocolate cakes, other cakes etc. There are enough places to sit, and you can also take your food out and sit on the grass out. Usually it is a little crowded, as the place is very small. I recommend this place.
Place packed with people hogging table space. Food top class, nice assistant eventually got table for us but food had gone cold at that time.Food: 4/5
Best scone I have ever eaten. SOFT. Like a baking powder biscuit! Home made Strawberry Jam. Just great.
Adorable pastries and cakes. Tasty coffees. Chai lattes and even matcha is found. Great cafe
