It's okay. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best chippy I've had. You have to pay extra to eat inside, which we didn't realise until after we had paid and had sat down.<b>Food</b>: 3/5
This is the place to get your fish and chips on a visit to Pevensey Bay. Ideally located just a stone's throw from the beach, what better way to kill time than to get yourself a generous portion of above-average cod beautifully crispy and sit down on one of the benches on the seafront? At Brighton pier you could never eat your lunch openly, as those aggressive seagulls would rip it from your lap in no time I've seen it happen on numerous occasions. The gulls in Pevensey are fewer and much more polite. The worst they do is to gradually come closer and moan so you give them some. Don't do that, BTW. The interior of the diner is very simple, in good weather you should always head to the beach instead. Good service and civil prices, too.
The food was nice! At least the haddock and scampi was nice. Chips were a bit dry but plentiful as was the fish which was the size of a small wale! Just as well really as it was literally nearly twice the price of what I pay back home and the 30+ minutes wait didn't help. But the fish and scampi was nice. But the prices mean its a first and last time for me. Sorry.

I ordered mushy peas with my fish and chips. When these didn't appear I queried it. The owner was aggressive and unpleasant. He said I hadn't ordered the peas. He brought over the till receipt, which I hadn't been given so had been unable to check the order before we sat down. He said there were no mushy peas on it and that I would have to pay for them. I had no objection at all to paying for what I ordered, but I did object to the rude way I was treated. The mistake was the restaurant's not mine, and I think an apology would have been in order. If he had just said sorry for the mistake or misunderstanding all would have been well, but he didn't. The food was good and freshly cooked, but eye-wateringly expensive.
It's been a while I came here. Its changed ownership too. Prices are high. If you eat in extra £4.00. So please bare this in mind.
Had takeaway fish and chips whilst staying in the area for the week. It didn't disappoint, food was hot, tasty and the staff were very welcoming. Would be my first choice if in the area again.
Got take away probably 7-8 times in the past 6 months when visiting relatives in Pevensey Bay and love the fish & chips from here. Trying out the several options my favourite is now cod & cheesy chips & pineapple fritters. The portions are big, I love the old style card box and everything is always fresh. The girls & guys working there are really friendly. Definitely will be visiting again, the & is better here than in any of the restaurants in town.
Best fish around this area. Crispy light batter, massive portion size and flaky, tasty fish - yummy. We have a takeaway from here most weeks and the fish is always excellent. The chips can be a bit hit and miss hence the 4 stars, rather than five but they are still okay. We always phone ahead and they are always ready on time. Have just used the online orering service which was confirmed in 3 minutes. Must mention the friendly and helpful staff too. Do give it a go, you won't be disappointed. Thanks guys.
Got a chicken filet burger with chips and a drink. Drink was nice and cold very refreshing. Chips were super hot but hard in the middle and the burger was horrible. I had food poisoning for 5 days with intense stomach cramps and nausea due to that burger. Do not recommend at all
