Very unprofessional receptionist at the Hedge End Vets, was giving completely different information to what the Shirley vets were saying. May consider retraining your staff on your “policies” regarding neutering kittens. I had to go to the vets that is further away just to get it done and she couldn’t take basic instructions.
The store is in a convenient location, being in the hub of Hedge End. They cater more to dogs than any other animal. They do allow owners to take their dogs in, so be warned you will find puddles of dog wee around the store and items on the end of aisles or stacked on the floor get urinated on. If you are topping up for your beautiful kitties, then I would not recommend this store. They do not have very good stock control, so there are lots of empty spaces. Limited choices on food and poor choice of cat toys. They do have lots of young staff who are unable to answer questions on the products or show any customer service. I would recommend the pets at home in Eastleigh or Fareham. These both have better parking facilities, a wider range of stocks, and can offer customer service at no extra cost.
Friendly staff and good variety of products. Gave a 4 star as they never have enough staff on the tills.
We were asked to pop in here for a friend. We the help of a friendly member of staff we found the product we were looking for. I was quote Impressed with the amount of goods and services available.
May be slightly more expensive than some other places, but the staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend this place

Very badly run store. The groomers have only one person who is “qualified” to cuts dogs hair.. and she is incredibly slow and off sick most of the time. Staff are untrained and disorganised. Im surprised the manager hasnt been fired.
Located on the Retail Park with M&S, Sainsbury's, Curry's, etc. There is loads of parking available and entry/exit options can and do get busy. The main store is on the ground floor, with the vets on a mezzanine. Stock levels were good on our visit between Xmas and New Year. There was a queue, but there were 2 tills open. The team were polite and helpful.
Really disappointed about this store staff unhelpful especially Manager Lewis when he heard my accent! Don’t care about people’s kid’s birthdays, if you a foreigner you definitely will be treated differently!
What’s the point in pets at home having fish honestly Dead fish dead plants and then they have the cheek to question if you’re going to look after a fish properly i’ve been looking after fish now for about five years I have two Oranda goldfish and today I witnessed one in the smallest tank you have ever seen it looked so depressed I have also witnessed dead fish being eaten by other fish this place seriously needs to have trained professionals working with the animals not teenagers looking for a part-time job
