Went for help at the help desk as I missed my train due to delays.... The worker didn't look up from his phone once to talk to me, I understand that customer service work is hard especially later in the evening, but looking at someone when you speak to them is the bare minimum, I did not feel reassured going onto the next train and hope I don't have the change at Peterborough again....
Even time I get a ticket normally the ticket person would check for the cheapest one for example check on Trainline but this woman was rude and had attitude telling me to basically do it my self on my phone because I asked her nicely if she could check on Trainline for a cheaper ticket like they would normally
Considering the 4 figure sum spent getting approx 35 people to Edinburgh from Peterborough it would have been helpful if station announcements and on train announcements could be heard above general travel noise. Appalling lack of information due to non existent staff to ask also. Get a grip and run the service you charge for!
Such a helpful and delightfully entertaining man in the customer service desk on Sunday 24th July. Traced a lost bag to the gents toilets in another station and organised for it to be sent on to Peterborough, waited while we checked the contents, and we had an amusing conversation about where it had been found. Thank you, I’m sorry we didn’t get your name. You are a credit to your profession.
Clearly understaffed, making existing staff unhelpful. My train got cancelled so I went to the information desk to get help on the best way for me to get home, and staff were too busy with the trains and office work to help customers - long lines were starting to form! Staff didn't really seem to want to help and when I followed their advice I found myself with many other people at the other station's information desk being told that Peterborough's staff always get things wrong and that we shouldn't have taken the train we did. Overall, not impressed.
