- If there was an option to give zero stars, that would have been too generous for the calamitous experience I've had with Peter Vardy. Six or seven months ago, I became the unfortunate owner of an Audi from this dealership. The car came equipped with a battery so inadequate that it's practically an insult to the vehicle. Furthermore, the keys were a disaster – the primary one broken, and the secondary one so cheap it would barely pass for a toy.nnI reported these issues immediately upon purchase, anticipating a swift and professional response. My anticipation, however, turned into disbelief as the days turned into months with no resolution. I have contacted the company and spoke to Nathan Coughill, Allan Macaskell, and Michael Pain multiple times, only to be met with evasion. Each phone call goes the same way: they answer, I introduce myself, and the line goes dead.nnThe audacity to repeatedly hang up on a customer shows a shocking lack of respect and professionalism. I have been met with broken promises and am still saddled with the initial problems, having had to replace the battery at my own expense because the company failed to address the issue.nnThis dealership's treatment of customers, especially students who invest their trust and limited resources, is appalling. I warn potential buyers to think twice before dealing with Peter Vardy. Take your business to a dealership that values customer service and integrity, like Arnold Clark, which comes highly recommended in stark contrast to the scam-like experience I've had.nnTo the manager of Peter Vardy: the situation has reached a boiling point. It's high time to sort out the keys and the dashboard warning. The continuous disrespect of cutting calls must cease immediately. I will not be traveling to Motherwell for repairs unless you compensate for the fuel, given the level of inconvenience your company has already caused me.nnThis is not just a complaint; it's a demand for action and a warning to others. I am absolutely disgraced by the service, or lack thereof, provided by Peter Vardy. Buyers, steer clear unless you want to gamble your money and patience with a dealership that seems to have no regard for customer satisfaction or basic decency.
Was impressed with vehicle choice and offered trade-in whilst building a deal online, so paid a deposit and arranged to test drive an e208. Got to branch and car was shiny and great looking in the showroom. But … faulty warning codes came up. They claimed due to not charged for a while and drove it out the showroom. Whilst waiting for sales guy to retrieve some trade plates for test drive, my son and I decided to have a look under bonnet what is in an EV we wondered and to our horror found masses of insulation/wool/fibre as if rodents or birds had been nesting in it. This was all around battery and drive motors so we said absolutely we would not drive for fear of fire. Deal on trade-in they also wiped £700 off the offer. Needless to say I walked away. But 10days later still waiting for deposit refund despite talking to branch twice. Very poor and can’t recommend.nnUpdate: paid deposit on 19/1 and at 1st Feb still waiting for refund. Have chased branch and their head office multiple times. Today apparently branch are releasing the funds so head office can refund it. What? £99 takes all this high finance negotiation. Disgraceful way to hold on to customer money.
I recently purchased a used car from Peter Vardy CARZ, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I walked in, Neil Johnston provided exceptional assistance, guiding me through every step of the process with expertise and patience. He took the time to thoroughly explain the features and services of the car, ensuring I made an informed decision.nnNeil also made the payment process seamless, addressing any concerns I had along the way. Thanks to his dedication and efficiency, I received my car within just 4 days of finalizing the purchase.nnOverall, my experience with Peter Vardy CARZ and Neil Johnston was fantastic. Their professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. I highly recommend them to anyone in search of a quality used car and outstanding service.
I was interested in purchasing one of their cars and put down a deposit of £99. When the salesman who I believe is actually a manager called me a few days later, I had some questions about the car. It was as if he had already assumed I no longer wanted the car and was very abrupt and quite rude on the phone. So over the course of the call I changed my mind and told him I was no longer interested. He tried to hang up on me and I stopped him and said ‘Can you please organise my refund?’. To which he replied ‘Ye will sort it’ and hung up, without taking any information. I assumed they would just refund to the account I had originally paid with. 3 days later, no refund, so I phoned back. I spoke to another salesman Liam -who was more helpful and this time he actually took my bank account details which was an improvement. A week then passed, and still no refund. Once again, I had to phone back. This time the receptionist said she would pass my details onto their accounts team. It has now been over two weeks since I requested a refund and still nothing. I’ve just seen that I have a refund being sent to my account tomorrow for £90…. NOT EVEN THE FULL AMOUNT I PAID I paid £99. Not sure that’s even legal. I was ensured by Liam I would get the full amount back when I originally paid. In fact, I remember him jokingly say ‘Of course you’ll get the refund back if you don’t want the car- we’re not going to steal your money!’. I won’t be wasting any more energy chasing the final £9 but I certainly will never go here again. I was interested in two more of their cars which I was going to tell the manager salesman but he was so rude to me it changed my mind. My partner is also in the market for a new car and will not be going to Peter Vardy. Four phone calls and over two weeks of waiting for a refund and then not even receiving the full amount is terrible customer service. I’ve never made a complaint to anywhere before but I just had to write this to warn other people off. I’ve been to other car dealerships since and have had a much better experience.
Avoid at all costs. Purchased a car back in March, which should have met the ‘CARZ’ preparation standards meaning brake discs won’t have a heavy lip or corroded to excess which they were. Luckily, I had a vehicle safety check done on the vehicle by another garage and they advised both front discs and pads needed replacing ASAP, which I had to accommodate after just buying the car. I sent the brakes report, costs and picture evidence through to Lewis Stevenson at Motherwell and heard nothing in response. I asked Lewis for their complaints procedure too and heard nothing.nThe car also had multiple circular dents visible from over 2 meters away again, this should have not been the case according to their ‘CARZ’ preparation standards sheet.nI was expecting a call back from the Sales Manager - Tony, but still not had a response from anyone at CARZ Motherwell. I will be taking this further with the ombudsman.nNow I know why I was rushed off the forecourt that evening on collection…
