I was unimpressed by my local Peter Cooper dealership in Southampton so tried Portsmouth. A completely different experience which, thanks to the super lovely Lucie, resulted in me buying a car immediately. The whole process was very easy with excellent communication from start to finish. Lucie was extremely professional and even had her nails to match my car on collection day. Highly recommended
Really impressed with the service experience I received today. First time using this branch since moving to the area and it was easy to book in, excellent communication from the team. Jordan was great and the receptionist was super lovely which makes all the difference. Seemless service from start to finish - highly recommend!

Helpful service today - allowed me yo get on with some work while my car was being repaired under warranty. It was slightly annoying to have had to come back to get this resolved, rather than have it sorted on the original booking in date, but today was good.

Having previously walked out of the Peter Cooper showroom in Hedge end, I hoped for better in Portsmouth. NOPE. Went to showroom as were in the market for a small SUV. I asked a few basic questions but the saleslady was less than helpful. I asked the simple question, "do you have a stock of the T-cross in stock or how long before we can access one. She went into her Managers office who was far more interested in helping a salesman put together a flag, while the lady waited for his response. 8 minutes later, my wife & I just got up and walked out! Wow, what a way to treat a potential customer - won't be back.
Trying to be fair on this review. My son brought a used vw golf from the dealership four weeks ago. The experience was exceptional and I was so impressed I was also looking to purchase a car as well. The administration unfortunately is not good and my son forgot on completion to bring his V5 from his previous vehicle which we part ex. In order to resolve Peter Cooper asked for a £250 deposit to resolve issue until my son brought back the log book. He returned with it a day later with a promise that the £250 would be refunded immediately. Three weeks later and numerous telephone calls and emails back and forth this money has still not been refunded. I really don't understand why a company that seem to go above and beyond in making a sale so straightforward are then unable to send back a deposit of £250.
My partner and I walked into VW Portsmouth yesterday with the hopes to be shown around a Golf R and potentially test drive one as there were a couple on the forecourt. The service from the receptionist was great, very friendly and helpful. When we were waiting for a sales person to come and help us, we continued to look around. A sales man came round the corner and from the second he saw us, he looked completely uninterested, did not want to help or even show us around the car. He explained that we could not take the vehicle for a test drive but could not give a reason. My partner and I then left, and went across the road to BMW where the service was outstanding and I was able to make a vehicle purchase.
We went to Peter Cooper with the view of buying a Polo R line we had seen online. Although the staff were friendly they are very pushy and after having a brief test drive and a Quick Look round the car they were pushing us to put down a deposit immediately and not allowing us to have any time to think!! It was a very costly decision we did not want to rush, the car was a demo car but also a staff car, although only with 1700 miles on the clock had multiple phones paired with the car a member of staff had left shopping bags in the back. When I explained to the lady at the dealer that a colleague over the phone agreed we could purchase the car £950 cheaper than the advertised price she looked at me like I was from another planet until I showed her the video from the other representative confirming that! One alloy had a scuff and there was a small chunk of rubber missing from the sidewall of the tyre in the same area, we were happy to purchase the car if the alloy was refurbished which was agreed but put up a fight about changing the tyre! Anyone with any sense would know that damage to a sidewall of a tyre is plain dangerous! The sales representative argued that it would not be replaced but after a second conversation on the phone agreed it would be replaced but could not agree with us that it would be a like for like tyre same brand. The car was going to be a big expense for us and we really wanted to buy it but the sales staff are pushy and are only interested in getting that deposit!!! We loved the car and wanted to buy it but unfortunately the customer service was well below par so we went to another dealer and got treated like humans and bought something else. We are now looking forward to what seems like an automated response thanking us for a 1 star review and that our comments will be passed to the management team!!!…..just about sums Peter cooper up!
From the moment we first called Peter cooper Portsmouth they have been fantastic! Video of the car sent straight over to us, as we live a fair distance away this was very nice to have. Dave throughout the whole process has been faultless keeping us updated as to what's been happening to the car and also sending more photos/videos. Thanks again Peter cooper Portsmouth
