A nice and authentic pub just a few steps away from the cold soulless buildings of Canary Wharf. Decent drinks, ok food, friendly staff and a great open-air area on the waterfront. A great place to have a drink and a chat with friends. Large indoor area with pool and darts. Cheerful, lovely setting for a summer night.
Really nice bistro pub in the Docklands . Nice outside sitting area by the water. It was clean and quiet. The meal was very enjoyable . Good and friendly staff. A pleasant saturday afternoon.
First of all I don’t see the point of closing the kitchen of a drinking establishment at 7pm when the bar stays opened until 11pm. Secondly, after asking the bar staff what time the kitchen would close, I was told 7pm. The barman added “make sure you get your order at the bar by 6:45 in case it’s busy” as I understand it might help the kitchen managing workload. Fair enough. Has to be said the pub was nearly empty at this point and to my knowledge, nobody was having food. I went to the bar at 6:46 and at the moment of placing my order with a guy at the bar, another girl tells him to ask the kitchen if they were opened. After asking, I was told with a proud tone that the kitchen was closed because it was one minute past 6:45. I approached the barman I had initially asked what time the kitchen would close and the girl came over to say “it’s 2 minutes past 6:45!!”.. the kitchen at this point was not preparing anything at all, as nobody brought any other food out of the kitchen from that moment. The kitchen was set to close at 7pm and the kitchen team left even before that. Really poor service. Really poor manners and customer service. Unprofessional the least! Nobody was sympathetic in any way or at any point during our visit. I have managed pubs before. I know it doesn’t take more than 5-10 minutes to warm up and serve a bangers and mash which was my choice and I know it’s not good customer service to be treated in such a dry manner. Also, I didn’t find professional that the barman and the girl were happily kissing behind the bar just a few moments before I approached the bar the first time. Avoid unless you want a mediocre run down pub with unprofessional staff that would definitely need a reminder of good manners.
DON’T EAT BURGER HERE. The worst burger I ever tried - bun is dry, meat just doesn’t taste nice. Some of the staff just unbothered and unprofessional. Good pub to drink, but not to eat here. Looks better than it tastes.
Yeah this was an OK meal. It's by the canal of you're into nature watching while supping on lunchtime Bangers & Mash. The food presentation was most impressive. Halloumi fries were tasty. Trying to support as much independent haunts as possible.
It's a great pub in Canary Wharf! Food and drinks and absolutely incredible in taste. Place is very cozy, convenient and has great seatings both in and out. Drinks are superb! Loved the environment it's vibrant and thrilling.
There is no table service there, you order your food at the bar. Burger was alright, but nothing to come back for.
It's ok. Thanks to the owner getting back to me asking what you could do better. The service was good, staff polite and friendly the lager was good too and we spent an enjoyable hour there but the last thing I did before leaving was go to the toilet and sorry but the gents left much to be desired, smelt bad and looked run down, no lick of paint in years. Shame that was was the last impression that was stamped on my mind. Sort it out, there's no excuse.
UPDATE: COVID times are weird for everyone! We booked our time on a Saturday afternoon and couldn’t be more pleased. The staff was great! Patient, helpful, understanding. The sausage and mash was delicious and the beers were so good. I really enjoyed the 2 sours they had. Ever since I moved to London from the US back in July, this has been my go to pub. There’s a decent selection of beers, screens upstairs and down to watch sports, and friendly staff. They recently changed the menu, but the food is still solid. Walking in always relaxes me. I’ll be coming here for years to come!
Karaoke fun. Loving their sausage rolls. Staff helpful and kind. Lower your mirror in the disabled toilet.
