Friday, 26 January 2024, it was another glorious sunny winter day in Penzance. I cycled from Penzance train station to the stunningly beautiful Mousehole. Mousehole itself is a very quaint English fishing harbour that has history steeped into its quay side. It is the location of the very first trans-Atlantic communication cable and is mentioned in the versaile treaty, which was signed in June 1919.nIt's a short and pleasant stroll from Penzance promenade.
Lovely way to walk between Penzance & Newlyn. The new seating is great. It’s lovely when the flags are up too. The various food vans help make it a social space, somewhere to stop, grab a coffee, or eat with friends. It’s not just a walking route and it’s great to see it used by so many more people since it was improved.
Amazing atmosphere. Council working on clearing seaweed even on a Sunday. Well done boys. Always lots of different activities going on
Love it. Lovely flat front for pleasant walk. Though I also paddled such a wonderful day. Loved the caravan called Pickles on the promenade. Tables set right on promenade rails. Great view. Staff great.
On a good weather day, it's a pleasant experience walking along the upgraded promenade, looking out across Mounts Bay, Newlyn on one side, with Marazion and St. Michaels Mount on the other. In season there a number of mobile eateries and other permanent venues to have a meal or snack. The promenade is very wide, but watch out for other uses, like cycles and skate board users.
