We are probably the "noisy clients" the guy below was complaining about, but it's nice to have a place where my noisy little human is welcome. I really like that my child can play here. They have all sorts of activities and events like a Lego Club, baby first aid, I even took a baby yoga class here. There is a wonderful selection of children's books and if you take out a children's library card they won't charge you late fees on children's books. There are plenty of plastic toys including a kitchen set, a huge range of children's books and board books, and books on parenting. There is also a great selection of DVDs although they charge something like three pounds for new releases. There is a good travel section including Lake District guide books and maps, and I have found a few non-fiction books that were great reads. Unfortunately the only adult literature I can find seems to be pulp fiction. Maybe I'm missing something? I think the manager has finally taken my advise to close the windows in the children's area so that children don't fall out of a second story window. I hope they keep them closed and get air conditioning in summer. The staff are nice after they get to know you. There are so many valuable resources here it is definitely worth a visit or two.
