Didn't know this lovely place existed. Free car park, benches, picnic tables, toilets and cafe with car park. Lovely walk through the woodland which is supposed to house red squirrels, unfortunately we didn't see any during our visit. There are different paths you can take and if you're lucky to take the correct one, you will be fortunate to come across a secluded sandy beach! You will also come across a pet cemetery. Definitely worth a visit
Beautiful place, perfect for a forest or beach walk, we go here every time we visit, perfect if you just want to amble around or watch the local wildlife. It even has a little pet cemetery. We love walking out dog round here. Restrooms: There is a toilet on the main carpark. Dog-friendliness: Perfect for dog walking. Picnic area: Let us of lovely places to have a picnic.
Free parking! Toilets here as well. Lots of walking areas to stretch your legs. Lovely little spot to pull in and enjoy the views and a bit of bird spotting, I saw a few people with their binoculars out over the sea! Wheelchair/buggy friendly as the ground is flat here.
We had a most enjoyable walk around here. The coastal path is well signed and there are information boards most of the way to point out places of interest. There is so much to see, amazing views, red squirrels if you're lucky, we weren't, remains of the old estate that used to be here, napoleonic era fortifications, a pet cemetery and much more. There is a sizeable car park with well maintained toilets and a lovely cafe in the old toll house. Well recommended
Beautiful, unspoilt woodland and beaches. Great place for walking and cycling and spotting red squirrels if you're lucky. Toilets but they were closed about 5pm and plenty of parking, but get there early during holiday time.
What a lovely park. Plenty of paths for a varied walk. Some interesting artifacts in the park. Nice little beach area. We spent a good few hours here. To top it all we got to watch several red squirrels running about. Free parking and clean toilets. Highly recommended ***** unfortunately there was a large pile of dog mess left in the picnic area. No excuse at all. A bin was only 10ft away! You should be ashamed, you give dog owners a bad name!
Lovely walk. Weather been terrible all day. Once it stopped raining we headed over with our dog for a walk. Sun came out and it was beautiful. Shame cafe and public toilets were closed.
This is a stunning spot to park up and have a spot of lunch - there are lots of picnic benches just beyond the car park and a cafe near the entrance. The walk is suitable for prams in the forest, but not out towards the headland as there is only a very bumpy grass path. You could spend around an hour walking here exploring the different paths in the forest. There is also a small beach you can walk along too near the car park, and well as another left of the headland. The toilets were locked when we went in mid-week, mid-September and there was a large map on the wall for info. Parking was free and plenty of it at this time. There is a cafe there, but we took a packed lunch with us to keep costs low. Nice walk and much less exposed to the elements in the forest than on the headland - we even spotted a red squirrel! If the toilets had been open, this would have been a five star review.
Lovely country park with lots of nice east walks & spectacular views of the coastline. Clearly a popular spot for a Sunday walk but there was still plenty of parking. Public Toilets were closed, might be because of the time of year February. Otherwise a lovely afternoon out.
Lovely place to visit, it has the best of both worlds beach and woods with plenty of benches for picnics and plenty of bins too which you don't get very often. Free parking too but not too big. It is pram friendly too. There is paths that are just grass and I will definitely be going back to explore those ones and this time hopefully see some red squirrels.
