Very nice market. Had breakfast in the cafe. Cheap and cheerful the staff were very nice. Bought a few tools and browsed around. A lot of clothes and jewelry, etc. Not too much in the way of crafts or artisan foods but a nice market.
I've been to the Penkridge Market on a normal day and it's very good, with a bit of everything there at ok prices not as goog as Bilston probably because of the location. However this time it was for a bully dog show on a Sunday, now very good for this event with food and drinks available and clean toilets. I would definitely recommend this venue as a good place to go.
For years I went to the farmers market here every month. For everal reasons I haven't been able to go for around 9 years so this was my first visit for a while. I have to say I was disappointed. The number of stalls was less than it used to be and the range of goods on sale wasn't as wide and varied as before. There didn't seem to be as many food stalls inside in the farmers market section.
Penkridge is a large village, it has a market on Wednesday and Saturday, been around for a long time. I use to go there on the Saturday to meet my school friends. Always friendly at the market. Recommended. They have different events here throughout the year. And a Christmas victorian market. The village it self is peaceful, you have the river and the canal . A train station, and buses go through, check timetable for train and buses. Not far from stafford, Cannock and Wolverhampton. I went to the middle school and high school at this place. There's also around the village the old stocks, plenty of pubs, the boat,Crosskeys and Littleton arms. The Monkton. Café and fish and chips. Market cafe open on market days. Worth a visit. You can also pop up the road to Robaston college to visit the animals. Enjoy visiting
Depending on when you visit the market and what the weather is like, will change your veiw of it. Sometimes theres a real buzz about the place, very busy, lots of people, lots of stalls and will even find it hard to find a place to park. Other times while you get the rainy days there's hardly anyone there, which is a bit of a shame because you can sometimes still get a good deal or two, so it's pot luck on the day. Saying that, it's always nice to walk around, spotting a bargain, getting your fresh veg, having a brew with your home made cake, meeting the vendors and even buying your meat for your Sunday dinner. Not a huge market compared with others but on a busy day you can get up to a 100 vendors.
Haven’t been to this place in probably 25 years so weren’t sure what to expect. The car park is still as terrible as I remember and there is no where near as many stalls as there used to be, however there are still a good range of stalls offering a variety of products at affordable prices and traders are friendly.
I hadn't been to the market or the area for year's. I was impressed with the amount of stalls and different bargains on offer. We're going next weekend again.
One of the only true villages markets around.theres such a good variety of stalls and eateries, cafe and little vans.ther is something for everyone and almost all giver you value for your money.even if your just going for a wonder round you will find d something you didn't know you needed.and people are so polite, that's the stallholders and the customers on the market I go twice a month and its a pleasure, I look forward to it.
This is a lovely rural feeling location, almost below the arches of the mainline railway, but quite secluded feeling. I attended for the Retro Cars Show rather than a market day, but the location was really well suited to the purpose it was being used for. I'm sure it's equally bustling on a market day. The site is easy to find, and parking is plentiful
Visited market two weeks ago was very impressed with stalls bought printer cartridge ink and 2 dresses had a nice cup of tea and a sausage roll delicious Went again today to exchange dresses had a good chat to fish monger felt so sorry for the traders as weather was terrible will be visiting weekly as very impressed with market what a difference the sunshine makes will recommend
