Haven’t been here in years. The Pier is looking amazing! The beach was quite quiet although we did go midweek but the promenade had a great atmosphere, lovely to see lots of people about.
A beautiful, relaxing place to spend time. You can buy freshly cooked food on the Pier & there is the cutest little sweet shop which opened in the 1930's ... pop in & see it ... its fab. Scenery is beautiful & so is the park opposite the Pier. Penarth was a joy
I have posted videos with this review and If you love nature this place is worth the visit, I visited here at around 10 in the morning and there were very few people visiting at that time, however, that didn't stay the same for too long as there were a lot of people almost after an hour. The pier itself is beautifully situated and you'll surely enjoy your time there if the weather is by your side. There are various stalls and restaurants to keep your tummy full, there's a public toilet which is free, there's ample parking space. You can have a nice walk down the road, you can go down to the beach and sit and have a chat and overall have a good relaxing time.
A trip down memory lane, back in Penarth for this beautiful sunny morning in October. Penarth beach is far from the most beautiful, situated just round the corner from Cardiff docklands, but when the tide is in and the sun shines you could be in far worse places! Easy wheelchair access along the promenade.
Definitely a sight if you visit Cardiff. I’ve been in Cardiff many times before due to my job but this was the first time I actually visited it. Absolutely marvellous. It was a bit cloudy but all in all it was fine. Really enjoyed my time at the pier but take it with a pinch of salt as I grew up in the mountains and I tend to be biased when it comes to being close to water
Nothing nicer than a slow walk along the pier in the summer sun, especially if you have ice cream! I love just watching the waves, it's so relaxing. There are a number of little food and sweet/ice cream shops to buy from. Just beautiful Parking can be a little tricky, but there is a car park at the top of the hill that has a lovely little cafe, toilets and a play park next to it, again with stunning views out to sea.
Love Penarth seafront. Lovely cliff walks at the top of the hill as well as a cafe and children's park. Nearer the pier, there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Love the pebble beach and a nice early sea swim.
Penarth Pier is beautiful and it’s free entry makes it even more of a reason to take a stroll along its wonderful historical wooden platform. Really great views out onto flat holm and steep holm Particularly special when the tide is at height tide. Even when the tide is out there is still the option to visit the beach and admire the old rustic metalwork that holds the pier up.
One of my fav places when visiting Cardiff. Lovely place to wander and grab a cuppa or slice of cake. Lovely to have a drink on the summer on the front
Has other reviewers, have stated, we visited Penarth Esplanade and Pier 20/8/2022 and was blown away by how lovely it was there, the Esplanade was very clean with a lovely bustling happy atmosphere, with lots of lovely beautifully lit restaurants and bars. The Pier itself was beautifully presented, lovely to sit awhile, and enjoy the views towards Somerset and Exmoor. The ice cream parlour at the entrance to the Pier, also deserve a mention, lovely friendly staff serving the most beautiful ice cream.
