Excellent food cooked and served with pride, easy going good service. Usually busy as one of the few decent restaurants in the upper Swansea valley. A reliable choice for a special occasion or a good family meal out. An eclectic collection of art and classic motorbikes provides a quirky character, bit the atmosphere is always great. An ever growing collection of animals at the rear keeps the kids entertained.

Loved it here. Accidentally discovered it one cold February lunchtime time and was utterly delighted. We were late for lunch but they welcomed us anyway. Offered us a seat by the fire to warm up before being seated in the restaurant and talked through the wonderful menu and specials. I couldn't resist the chefs special cote de boeuf (see pic). They were great accommodating my 2yr old daughter preference - mash, no chips and lots of peas. To top it all they have a mini zoo on property. Loved having a wander through after we'd eaten . If I'm ever back this way I'll stop again

Absolutely beautiful place. 
We booked the Pen Y Cae last minute and they were able to accommodate. When we arrived they were very friendly.
the service was second to none.
The menu was amazing, not to much choice but had lovely unique dishes that you won't find in any other pub. 

The lay out was really warming and cosy.
I can't recommend this place enough.

Make sure you book just incase!

Lovely food, very hospitable, fairly dear on price but the food was worth it. Was able to cater for big parties. Beautiful restaurant

Utterly delighted with our meal and the service we were given. We chose perfectly cooked cote de boef and T-bone steaks, which arrived quickly and beautifully presented. Our dog was provided with a water bowl whilst I enjoyed a couple of the well-kept local beers. We loved the atmosphere - the art surrounding us and the motorbikes. Absolutely want to return if we're in the area.
