My family of 11 and one dog had a great time here. The pictures don't really do it justice. The farmhouse is very spacious and well stocked with cooking condiments, toiletries, toilet rolls and even Christmas decorations. Michelle has thought of everything. She left us cakes, milk, sweeties and lots more. Michelle was also very quick to respond to questions. I would highly recommend this holiday property.
The family decided on a staycation this year due to the Corona Virus and have just spent a week at the Farmhouse in Abergele and we wasn’t disappointed. Six adults, four children and two dogs and we had a lovely holiday. The farmhouse is in a beautiful, quiet, idyllic location with stunning views all around. The weather wasn’t the best but that didn’t stop us getting out and about. We hired the large eco hot tub a couple of times and that went down well with the children, they loved it. We all enjoyed the very large garden for family games and the children going on an adventure, as well as going feeding the ducks and the other animals there. We did have a couple of issues which Michelle sorted out, like the WiFi was a bit hit and miss at times so if you’re expecting super fast broadband you’re not going to get it in a 400 year old farmhouse with extremely thick walls. Perhaps it would benefit from a bit of updating in decor in certain areas but for us it added to the character of the house. I will say though that the farmhouse was spotlessly clean throughout, is well equipped and has everything you need for your stay. We had some fantastic family meals there as well as eating out locally. Would we stay there again? Yes we would, we had good quality family time together away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Just returned home following a beautiful weekend at the cottages. Went with family to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. Stayed in Bluebell and Primrose. Both were immaculate and had everything you need. Michelle even leaves a pint of milk and packet of biscuits for you. The farm is lovely with plenty of walks. Will definitely return.
We had a beautiful weekend, I will definitely go back
We stayed in the Primrose & Heather cottages. From start to end booking through Michelle was nothing short of a smooth, easy process. She was on hand if there were any issues, she recommended local places to eat, she text to make sure everything was ok... just great customer service. The cottages were beautiful, as were the surroundings, a gorgeous little lake that we could see from the cottage windows, a few animals at the back of the cottages... great for children or a short walk. The location is perfect, a short drive from lots of local amenities, we managed to get to betws-y-coed, towyn, Conwy & Abergele with great ease. Thank you Michelle for a great stay, we will be back!
We stay here when visiting friends. It's warm, cosy, comfortable and dog friendly. Make sure you have enough provisions as it's a short drive to the local shops. Again, a short drive to the local pub. We wanted to extend our holiday for a few days last time and one phone call and it was done. We are already booked for this year.
It has cosy rooms, is warm and spacious, nice house , farms nearby so you can go and walk to them, nice actual walks next to house and a cute pond with ducks, also nice gardens for the visitors, recommend strongly, also good food nearby. An amazing place to stay and lots of activities to do nearby, including Castles, beach within twenty minutes drive
We booked the farmhouse and all the cottages for our wedding weekend as we wanted somewhere we could fit our bridal party, close friends and family and make a full weekend of it. From the get go Michelle couldn't have been more helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, even providing stairguards and high chairs for the littlest members of our party. It really was perfect for what we wanted, a beautiful rural setting, and the farmhouse and cottages had country charm and were maintained to a high standard. Everything you needed was to hand, to be honest we almost forgot we were there to have a wedding. We hot tubbed, we bbqed and kept the kids entertained with the variety of animals that were hanging around. It really did make our weekend to have somewhere we could relax in and be together.
Great place for a family holiday, clean, tidy and well equipped - like a home from home. Good location to reach local attractions like Llandudno and Snowdonia. Pet friendly which is great for the dog and cat. The cottages and farmhouse are set in beautiful surroundings with plenty of space to walk the dogs or for the kids to play out. The farm animals are lovely, the children love to feed the goats and sheep. - Lots of 5 star reviews on Trip adviser and Facebook.
We arrived at the Farmhouse as a party of 10 for a family wedding for a 2 night stay. Whilst the setting is idyllic the sleeping arrangements are not ! One of the double bedrooms smelt so badly we were convinced there was as septic tank outside the window but quickly realised that the radiator had soaked the carpet and the smell was stagnant water . Unfortunately we did not realise this until around 8pm and after a family member unearthed a small scrap of paper from the owner saying the radiator had leaked . In order to prevent further stress for the bride to be my husband and I said we would sleep in the lounge on settee's . The bed settee is just a mattress full of springs ! This meant we had to get dressed for a wedding in the lounge no mirror in the room and it was incredibly dark . To add insult to injury the boiler was broken and when you required hot water only all the radiators came on . We couldn't turn them off as not one thermostatic valve worked . Again to call a plumber in late Thursday evening to repair a boiler that is quite a big job we knew would add more stress to the event . The large fridge in the utility that says " frost free" is broken and the thermostat is broken too but we weren't told that either and as told by the florist we put the flowers for the bride and guests in a small amount of water in the fridge . At 10pm when we checked every buttonhole flower and bridesmaids corsages were frozen solid covered in ice .... To late to get some to fix the fridge now . We needed someone to fix the leaking radiator and wash the smelly carpet an engineer to fix the boiler and a new fridge and still we were trying to smile ! This morning we woke early as check out is really early 10am to find hundreds of wasps all over the downstairs . In our drinks on our food actually walking over them . My elderly mother spent an hour brushing them up. On arriving home I telephoned to speak to the owner who has called me back and explained the situation . She said that basically we should have told her about the smell and she would have washed the carpet whilst we were out . Who wants to sleep in a tiny room with a damp carpet . Plus the smell wouldn't have gone the carpet was filthy? I did point out that we were trying to make things less stressful for the bride and moaning and having workmen in late at night would have been awful. After 2 nights of sleeping on a 4ft settee and feeling extremely tired and disappointed I did point out that I wasn't disparaging her business and did not want a refund but as the brides father loves the area perhaps 2 nights in one of their cottages anytime of year would go towards making amends . The answer was basically "no" hence the review! On a final note . There are 2 sets of bunk beds in one room . They are huge and there isn't any room to move around them . I noticed that there isn't a fire escape window in that room making it very dangerous if there was a fire . The owner has just told the egress window is in the hall ?? I'm baffled .. Who would open a door if there was a fire outside ? This is against the law and a fire hazard . On a positive note all the bedding, towels, crockery etc were nice and clean and plenty of fire wood for the log burners but you won't need it because the radiators are permanently on !
