Beautiful castle with beautiful surroundings! An excellent choice for a day trip. Absolutely worth visiting the castle and walking down the paths around it! There is a cheap public parking right next to the castle, along with a couple of nice pubs to eat and drink. The river with the swans make the whole scenery very picturesque. Absolutely recommended!

Interesting castle with many towers and spiral staircases to explore. The exhibitions are interesting and could do with clearer integration for the unfamiliar visitor. Some fantastic ancient architectures and great history.

Interesting castle with fantastic history (birthplace of Henry VII, role in Civil War). Fun kids' activities. Pleasant cafe, gift shop, very clean toilets. Parking nearby. Not too expensive either. Good for a half day out.

Really enjoyable time at the Castle. Had a nice walk around the beautiful grounds, and went on a really comprehensive and detailed tour, that was included in the cost of the entrance ticket (at time of writing, £6.60 for adults, less for children). Nice exhibits on site and good historical information. Check out the massive map in the middle of the courtyard. Knight School (a kids version of the tour) looked like great fun, with plenty of am dram! Also, have a nice cafe on site doing a nice selection of fresh sandwiches and specials (for example burgers). All in all, a nice day out! Be prepared for a little walk from the car park (the 'official' council one is about 10 mins walk up a hill).

Nicely preserved castle, kids loved the narrow stairs up and down the towers. Really made up it was dog friendly all over too, bar the cafe and shop. There was an outdoor stand for coffees anyway so made no difference for us. The kids really liked the quizzes on the picnic tables too.
