Model railway heaven. Start with the exhibition which aptly demonstrate the versatility of the models railway by showing configurations designed for loft, garage and study spaces. The level of detail is astounding. You can then purchase model engines, railways and various other models to help build your own setup. There is a nice cafe in which to rest before the highlight of the Pecorama - the small railway. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the gardens on the small steam engine. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Amazing little railway with some really stunning gardens as well. I honestly did not expect the gardens to be as impressive as they were as the main focus here is the railway. There is also plenty of things to do the in various play areas for different aged children. Also a nearby hut selling food and drinks. There is another food stand away from the play area should you prefer. Mini golf is on offer, you pay a deposit for the clubs. Same with table tennis. The railway staff were great and very friendly which just made everything a lot smoother with our ASD son. Car park seems quite big. It looked like there was an overflow if needed as I can imagine this place gets quite busy at peak times. The displays of model railways in the museum were spectacular as well. Even little touches such as steps for smaller children to stand on to allow them to see the display. Also had lots of interactive buttons you could press as well. Greatly enjoyed by the adults as well as the children... Model shop also looked well stocked. We will definitely be back!
The staff are amazing! We visited yesterday 3/9/22 with my mother who is on a mobility scooter. 4 Wheeler scooter not a 3, the terrain is not suitablefor a 3 wheeler. A big thanks to ALL the staff on the train who helped her. These small gestures mean a lot. Pecorama is definitely worth a visit. The gardens are amazing! The shop/museum takes you to a magical childhood place. There is little to do for teenagers, but the teenager was still amazed at the shop and the train. Smaller/younger kids will enjoy the play facilities whilst the parents enjoy a tea/coffee
A very nice day out with my son plenty to see and to do,lovely staff very helpful! The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is that the playground is basically made for kids up to like 3-4 years my son is 5 years old and it was quite boring for him but it's a good day out expecially if you're into trains!
Visited Pecorama for my birthday.Had a lovely day riding on the narrow gauge railway. It's amazing with a tunnel and a great complicated layout..All electrically controlled. Good selection of engine's and a diesel. The grounds & gardens are beautiful. The staff are so welcoming & helpful. Try the cakes at the café they made on site and are delicious. The model train exhibition is well worth a visit. Fabulous layouts with amazing detail. The grounds and train rides are dog friendly as long as they are kept on a lead & short lead on the train ride. All in all a fantastic day out in a beautiful setting.
Great little train ride around the park, went around a couple of times. Nice walk around the little gardens that they have too. Some good model rail exhibitions of varying sizes based on different areas available i e. Bedroom, Loft, Shed etc... There is a well stocked model rail shop there too which also has a few Airfix model kits. There is an old Pullman coach that you can book to go and have afternoon tea on but is only open a couple of days, so check before going. There are a few cafes, although on our visit only the Whistle stop cafe was open near to the crazy golf.
Pecorama would have easily been 5 stars until we went to other places that offer way better value, but I guess value is in the eye of the beholder. You pay the £48 for 4 people to get in and that gets you one train ride, entry to the whole site including museum, gardens, play area. The problem here is that it then costs you £3 per person to ride again on the train which if you want to go a few times makes it very expensive. Now I love trains and thoroughly enjoyed the 15 minute train trips and the staff/drivers were great. You go through the tunnel, stations and some great scenery while winding around the gardens on a very comfortable train. The kids spent ages in the play parks and the picnic tables are in a great location to be able to see them while chilling out. The museum was great and had quite a few layouts to enjoy and look at and to take home some ideas. The peco shop was disappointingly small and didn't have a wide variety of stuff, a missed opportunity as most people who visit would want to take something home. The shop at the entrance had some random bits in it but again nothing special. We enjoyed the gardens for a small amount of time, and if you like walking you can venture quite far.
We had a lovely time there today, two big kids and 6months old! Enjoyed the train and the very well kept gardens also great play areas for the children and then went to see the model railway layouts
We were very happily surprised to find this attraction was lovely with a nice little train ride, beautiful gardens, well designed layout with plenty of seats, bowls of water for dogs, and playgrounds across the site. The staff were very friendly and ensured the dogs were looked after with doggy biscuits. I highly recommend you visit with family and dogs. There is plenty of areas donated to picnicking and also cafes that provide hot food, snacks and ice cream. Playground: This site has about 4 different play areas so children from 2 to 14 can enjoy themselves. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are made welcome at the ticket office with a dog biscuit. There is water bowls around the site and plenty of doggy bins. Picnic area: Plenty of picnic benches and covered areas to sit and enjoy your food in pleasant surroundings.
Train was very enjoyable and a reasonable time taken to go around - nearly 30 mins. The gardens were fantastic especially the secret garden and the sun garden, so quiet and secluded. Would definitely go again.
