We stayed at Pebble Beach for 2 nights and also ate in their restaurant which was fabulous. Joe, the manager, was fantastic as was his team of well trained, polite and courteous staff. The prawn risotto was the best I had ever tasted- the restaurant is run by a Michelin star chef. My wife and I upgraded our room to the penthouse for the second night which was amazing with incredible views directly over the sea. The hotel was also dog friendly which was another added benefit for us. The hotel, restaurant and most especially the service from all the staff was first class and we would definitely stay again.
Very confused on how to rate this place. The wait staff were all extremely courteous and friendly. The interior and surroundings were beautiful! So why 3 stars? Service and food. Food - Whilst there was nothing wrong with the food we just left feeling sort of indifferent about it, so-so, uninspired in a way. Service - Be prepared to wait; a LONG time! We ate in February so not really the height of tourist season and the restaurant was fairly quite. Starters and mains arrived fairly promptly, but after waiting over 30 minutes we had to approach a member of wait staff to order desert. To anyone looking to eat here. Yes; the views are amazing, the setting is fantastic. Everyone is extremely nice and courteous but be prepared to wait a long time for some so-so food.
Excellent food. Service. Is terrible. Friends have so noted the same. I see lots of comment in regards to service yet this has not changed. We had to go up and find someone 4 times to order drinks, starter and mains. No. One came. Over once to take an order other than to deliver food. They said they were short staffed but they were all congregated around the pay station chatting majority or the time. Shame as its such good food and not cheap but the service needs a huge overhaul.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch at Pebble Beach. The food was fabulous especially the double baked cheese souflé starter...heaven!! Service was great and very friendly. We will definitely be returning and I hope to be able to eat outside on the terrace over looking the water in the summer. I would strongly recommend! Vegetarian options: Falafels were a delight! Parking: Free parking but limited space
Food good but they don't do the seafood platter anymore .. it was the best. I had cod loin but lacked flavour.. looked Nd tasted bland. Roasted new potatoes were excellent. It was an ordeal booking for 8 people and had to pay £80 deposit up front understandably in case of cancellation and a busy period .. but the restaurant was half empty! No view to the needles as weather not great and no parking on site available .
Had a fantastic lunch. Top quality cuisine. Also the breakfast was amazing, fresh croissants, toast, meat and cheese board, fruit salad and yogurt. Staff were keen and attentive Parking: On site parking
We had generous portions, the sunday roast and the most outstandingly delicious, surf and turf with the gorgeous chunky chip! All good and highly recommended. Parking: A lovely cliff top, open space car park, next to field, restaurant and well priced.
When for a meal to celebrate my birthday a few days earlier . Food was amazing especially the celeriac soup New menu is a hit for me and the desert was fabulous. Will be trying the hotel facities soonFood: 5/5
We visited for Lunch to celebrate mother in laws birthday - location is at end of parade of shops - small car park to the side - but probally best to park 100yds away in proper pay and display car park. Excellent welcome - restaurant decorated to good standard - tables to the rear have sea views - and there is a terrace which would be nice to use in better weather. They have attached a large tent like arrangement to the rear to accommodate party bookings - not sure about that - accessed through fire doors that BANG close every time someone goes through - so a table at back gets some sea glimpses but if by the door to the tent you will soon tire of the constant banging. Table service was excellent - waiting staff very smart and polite - the restaurant manager attentive though less well presented. Food was good - we chose fixed price menu starter + fish and chips + sweet - prices were acceptable c£30 for 3 courses. Toilets clean. In all a very positive experience - just sort out the access to the tent extension and soften the door closure system. And it would be nice if Pebble Beach took the time to at least acknowledge the many positive reviews that customers have taken the time to contribute - never forgot we have a choice.
A rather confused menu. We visited on a Friday evening and were told that neither pizzas nor the fish and chips were available. Teriyaki salmon risotto £22.95 was served with the skin on the fish which was surprising. Sea bass with king prawns £22.95 featured two small prawns. Service very slow, but one of our party had a wine glass taken away before she’d finished her wine. We were served largely by a charming but inexperienced and flustered waitress.
