I have two different opinions on this place depending on whether it's a day visit or evening visit. Day times always seem to be reasonably quiet and therefore you seem to get much better service, food comes out quickly and the food is always warm. There's been a few day time visits where hot drinks have been forgotten but resolves quickly when mentioned. Any evening visits though have always left us a little disappointed, service is slow and they seem to pick and choose who they serve at the bar and a few times been given wrong drinks. Definitely a nice place if you pick the right time.

Ownership has changed recently (back to the landlord who had it before the last one). Back to the great, friendly service I was used to! Good range of drinks, busy on a weekend with a DJ if that's your thing. Haven't had food recently but it was good under this landlord last time so I imagine it'll be the same this time. A great place to take the family for a lunch / dinner out.

Very unpleasant experience! Staff including the chef rude and made myself and company feel uncomfortable. Despite a mistake being made was from there own end we didn't feel welcome. Food very overpriced for what you pay ! Fish and chips , there was more batter than fish , with a fish finger inside , there must've been more oil on my plate from the chips than in the fryer. After telling the waitress , there wasn't a simple apology to follow. Not to mention our food was cold after waiting a lengthy time. Not one to complain but i certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone !

EDIT : new managers removed, previous landlord back under control. 5 star service resumed ...... The following review no longer applies .New managers, a completely different experience to previous visits, so much so that I left tonight feeling extremely uncomfortable. We had won the quiz and been given food and drink vouchers, we set up a tab and ordered a couple of rounds of drinks, when we went to pay with the vouchers the manager challenged us saying the vouchers were for draught only (wasn't told this) and that he hadn't even given them out to us (well we didn't blinking print them!) Almost ended in a shouting match. Rude. Also, very smelly and dirty female toilets. Goodbye Pearson's, I enjoyed you while you lasted.

Called in for a coke....Very spacious and clean. Not been in since the refurb. Overall not bad
