Marble memorial stone marking the exact spot where PC Brian Bishop was shot at point blank range by a man recovering stashed cash from armed robberies on Frinton & Walton Post Office's. He died from the gunshot injuries sustained at the scene, 5 days later in hospital. Brian Bishop Close, a secluded turning off the main Kirby Road is located about a mile to the north. A very similar memorial to another PC killed on duty is to be found further down the coast in Clacton Seafront Park.
The beach here is amazing! Dog friendly. Natural safe pools for the children when the tide turns. Plenty of stone free sand. You could be anywhere in the world.
The views over looking the sea is amazing. If you have children or dogs, there are some lovely walks along the beach/ beaches. If you are really into walks or running, you can run or walk all the way to Clacton which is about 8 miles along the beach. Come and ENJOY
Lovely little spot, great for dog walking, and if you’re driving a camper or motorhome this is one of the very few places you’re allowed to park AT ALL near the front at Walton or Frinton. Horribly unsocial total ban almost everywhere else, even in winter! No use here if you’re disabled or unfit however, as it’s a long stairway down to the beach and feels steeper on the way back up!
I love Frinton/Walton easy parking by memorial nice walk to beach, very clean, toilets handy, lovely beach and fantastic views to look at, chill out on the beach and dip feet in sea
