Been going here for ages. Sometimes food is ok but alot of the time its not.. consistency in food is not there alot of the time and hapening more now... Bought fish and chips. Bought small Fish & Chips yesterday for £5 Had recieved an awfully small portion size within a small container all wrapped up. The fish was low quality and was really dry, consisted of far too much oil within and seemed like it was premade weeks back. The chips on the other hand were decent with the sauce provided, without the sauce it would have tasted awful. For the price of £5 and the serving size, shops on Alum Rock Road could offer "Cheaper and Better Tasting options" with a more favourable serving size. Regarding the service provided, it was pretty average. I also believe that the atmosphere is quite small for when children finish school and visit, there may consist of lack of space for some customers and they may have to queue outside. As a child, I used to go towards this chippy ever few weeks, however I believe as of recent years they have fallen off due to the inflation, taste of food, portion size and atmosphere not being suitable for more customers / specifically their target audience being children for if they have a gambling machiene within, what message is that meant to have upon the children?? Based off of my personal opinion, I would not advise this takeaway to anyone else and would rather visit better alternatives located on the same road
First time I went in, they had good food not going to lie. Fresh hot chicken and chips with donner. Visited 2nd time and it was just disgusting. They served the food in a smaller sized box and the chicken was full on dry, like it had been cooked a day before or something vileFood: 1/5
Food use to be great. Seems like they using cheap potatoes and cheap oil. Chips are excessively soft and oily even though they've just come out. The colour of the chips are always dark which is 2 things, high starch potatoes, dirty oil. Prices are high and quality is low. Friendly service no doubt about it. But the food needs to be good. It's just a matter of time before a vacant shop opens into a chippy and they will loose all their customers.
Best Cod Fish and Chips in Birmingham! Better than some branches in Bournemouth on the South Coast. The Cod Fish is prepared on order so fresh at all times. A family run business therefore brilliant customer service and reputable to the local community. The chips are always piping hot and fresh. The hygiene standards are 10/10. Most Chippys can learn a thing or two on how to maintain high standards from Pavlos. The Donner meat, chicken and burgers are very popular. They have a limited opening hours compared to your standard chippy, so get there well before closing. Vegetarian options: Limited to none as with most chippys. Dietary restrictions: 100% Halal Parking: Main road parking or in front of the chippy as very large pavement. However, limited. Kid-friendliness: Yes but no seating. Only takeout. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes but compact.

Pavlos food is lovely. Very tasty but chips have been a bit soggy and before they were nice and crisp. Also with inflation price has increased drastically. A large would cost £4.20 and now it's £7!Food: 5/5
Loved the place. First time there at 844 Alum Rock Road, but very welcoming. Great food at a reasonable price. Love and kisses to Tony and Angela behind the bar from Ed.
This chippy has been with the same family for what seems like a life time. They have been there since atleast the 70s The unit is clean has friendly staff and the food is on point too. Food is always fresh and the fish is of the highest standards
