This morning I had my first appointment with Stacey Palmer, sports massage therapist at Paul Tompkins Physiotherapy. It was an overall good experience - the venue is very clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and professional. Stacey was well-prepared no waiting, knowledgeable and extremely competent. I have quite complex problems with my neck and upper back that cause me chronic pain. She made me feel welcome, understood exactly what I explained and asked relevant questions. I felt in safe hands. It's worth mentioning that I have tried sports massage for pain relief before this but with mixed results that didn't tend to last very long. As I'm writing this review, I've just finished a busy, stressful 8 hour working day but my neck and shoulders are still relaxed and I'm still virtually pain-free without any meds. That's an exceptionally good result. I will definitely be coming back.
I was experiencing lower back pain at the start of the year and decided to book an appointment to see Paul. I found the experience very professional, honest and straight to the point. After the initial session I was sent an interactive treatment plan containing exercises and stretches which I could carry out at home. After diagnosing the source of the pain, Paul suggested to end the session early as there was no need to carry on and instead to return in a 2 weeks’ time free of charge to check any progress and if further treatment was needed. After following Paul’s advice and completing the exercises, I was relieved from the lower back pain. I would recommend Paul to anyone seeking physiotherapy.
Physio checkup & recommendations were very good. Everything was explained & demonstrated so that I could understand how these exercises work. He has given me confidence that I'm carrying out my physio the right way.excellent communication!
I saw Paul recently due to a neck issue and was very impressed by both the ability to see him at short notice and also by the treatment and information he provided. Highly recommended.
I've been seeing Amy recently for an arm injury and she's been wonderful, I highly recommend her. She's been so kind, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and reassuring. She made time to see me at very short notice and worked wonders in just 20 minutes. Rather than pummel my sore muscles, she's been using acupuncture which has really helped. She's also set me exercises to do at home and adapted them to suit my specific injury. Some years ago, I saw Paul and he was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, down-to-earth and friendly, so I recommend him too. Everyone here, from the receptionists to the other staff I've encountered, have been lovely. A huge thank you!
I recently saw Paul for chronic patella tendinitis. After seeing multiple other Physio’s before him, I was beginning to think I would never be able to play football again, as I had not been able to run for 6 months. Within 5 weeks he had me back running again without any pain. I was back playing football after around 6 sessions with Paul, over 8 weeks. If you want a properly structured and progressive rehab plan I cannot recommend him enough.
I have been using Paul Tompkins and his team for many years. Everyone there is very capable and have very impressive CVs. What I love the most is that no question is a silly question, and they are all happy to explain what they are doing and why. I have recently been seeing Stacy who has been fantastic solving a problem I have had with one side of my neck/trap area. Whether you are a keen gym goer, sports person or simply hurt yourself at work these guys come highly recommended!
I had physio with Jess after knee pain which prevented me from running. I was quite anxious about what this meant for me but Jess made me feel completely at ease and is so friendly and helpful. I had not been able to run for 6 months before seeing her, and after only 3 sessions and was able to start running again. I had a slight follow up issue a couple of weeks after treatment ended so called the clinic and Jess called me back that day to discuss and reassure me. This has been excellent, thanks
As a Professional Strongman I need my body in tip top shape to cope with the rigorous of training and competition. I have been using Paul and the team since 2018 and even when I have been seriously injured they have bent over backwards to help me get the correct diagnosis and help I needed. He has prepped me for my biggest competitions home and abroad and I wouldn't want anyone else in my corner. The injury prevention from seeing Paul and the team has been amazing Thank you all
I visited Paul at his new clinic on Hanham High Street in November last year with a super painful elbow. He diagnosed tennis elbow and gave me some exercises to do. The pain has cleared and I'm back to normal. Thanks Paul. I've visited you for other aches and pains over the years, as has my husband, and you always solve the problem.
