Don't bother visiting for spinning fishing. The fish are spoilt by dead baiting... 4 visits and not a single bite... Not to mention ridiculous logic for charging for boat... Price per person instead of per boat...... No idea who came up with that.. won't visit again, spinning is a no go....
Woke up to field fares and blackbirds thick fog and frost. The hotel is a golf country hotel set in beautiful grounds with magnificent lakes and mature trees. The hotel accomodation bedrooms bars dining and leisure area are a little dated, but very clean. Large bedrooms which are very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Very attentive caring staff. Very good value for money.
New owner has taken over. Its a lovely place to fish.
Visited Patshull Park for a friends wedding reception and decided to book a room to make a weekend but of it. Booking in was quick and painless, there's lots of rooms so make sure you check the information boards with room numbers on, you can get lost. Room was great with a king size bed, top marks from tall people. It is golf and fishing oriented so expect lots of golfers and a few anglers.... a good bunch. Great nights sleep and a great breakfast. Our room was booked with breakfast included....no complaints. Can be a bit expensive but for a weekend away, well worth it.
We booked a deal for our Wedding Anniversary. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, which was just an overnight stay with evening meal, could not fault. We were greeted, very politely, helped with our luggage, my husband walks with a stick, to our room. This turned out to be a very nice suite, with views over the golf course. We don't play golf but the location was beautiful. The weather not quite as good. Evening meal, excellent as was the service, breakfast, help yourself but a good selection and plenty of it. Would certainly think of visiting again and definitely recommend.
This was the best location for boat fly fishing in the Midlands. The location was full of character and wild life. It is a shame that they have stopped trout fishing apparently on financial considerations. This is a great disappointment to me and all my flyfishing community. It was the last place in the midlands where this ancient sport could be practiced . It’s lost will be surely missed , however I wish the new owners every success and my thanks to Richard for his friendly, knowledgeable and help over the years . Alas another nail in the coffin of fly fishing in the Midlands
Had a fantastic 4 days of golf. Great course in excellent condition with some classic holes plus the trees & scenery were superb. The dinners & the service were far superior to what we expected.
We had a Christmas party here. The food was good and the bar prices reasonable. Set in wonderful grounds and golf club I thought I'd stay over and take advantage of the leisure facilities. However the hotel was very tatty and desperately in need of updating. I've paid less for more elsewhere. My 3 stars are for the function room and leisure facilities. Zero stars for the hotel rooms unfortunately.
ok not a 5 star resort but at under £50 per night a good 4 plus. grounds are beautiful. rooms comfortable. food is adequate . we only tried the bar menu
We used the hotel for a medium sized corporate event and fully enjoyed the friendly staff, wonderful landscape and picturesque settings around the lake. "Mini golf" during the break was a great team building event and spawned an interest with many developers not previously exposed to golf. Not too impressed with the lunch, but i acknowledge that our limited budget dictated a less interesting palate.
