What a lovely place! Vegan friendly. 5/5 stars for the staff excellent customer service and friendliness. They were above and beyond to help with tables and serve the meals for the new customers. I was sitting in the waiting area charging my phone and asked a table for one. I had a tea while waiting and I loved it deeply seeing how friendly the staff are. I had mushroom rice, chips and Bhajies soup. Huge portion I had to ask to take away everything except the soup. I noticed the restaurant is well known for travellers and locals and many taxi are waiting outside the doors. The restaurant is cash only.
The food was nice nothing special my mixed kebab starter consisted of a greasy onion bhaji the chicken tikka was sliced up and the sheik kabab passable main chicken saag was nice my garlic chilli chicken only had a few pieces of chicken made up of sauce and burnt garlic the rice nice chapati over cooked wouldn’t eat here again service was average
So glad we booked, as was very busy and popular, always a good sign. Excellent decision and we had a great meal. Both choices were from the specials menu and were delicious and flavoursome, tastes we hadn't experienced before and a very welcome change. Can highly recommend!
Great place but the food isn't top notch but edible, seriously lacking effort in the kitchen, the sizzling platter onions were yellow and virtually boiled with no crispness and the tandoori chicken and meat were poor tasting compared to my usual,as this is the only Indian in whitby then I suppose you have to take what you get but we definitely won't visit again ,the staff were very very good and pleasant and the restaurant is very well decorated and well lit, overall 3 out of 5
Lovely food definitely will return. We had chicken korma, chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh, special fried rice, garlic and cheese naan. Thank youFood: 5/5
We have eaten here several times now. It is by far one of the best Indian restaurants in the north of England. We actively come from Hull to Whitby and look forward to eating here. The food is incredibly rich and flavoursome and we always leave with a doggy bag. Can't go wrong.
Menu looked really, really good but dear, oh dear. Starters were OK, nothing particularly special, but the main course arrived over a 20 minute period with much of it cold. My dish was supposed to be fiery hot but it turned up really, really sweet. Inedible. The few dishes that arrived hot were, again, just OK/nice. Initially a small discount was offered when we complained but the manager agreed a more suitable refund so we only really paid for the starters and drinks.
So incredibly disappointing, ordered a delivery at 6:45 and phoned them at 8:30 to inform them our order hadn't arrived. They informed us at this time that our order would be with us in 10-15 minutes. At 8:55 we rang again as we still had not received this order and were told it had been delivered to the wrong house which I find hard to believe as the order hadn't been paid for and we were told it would be 'with us as soon as they can' but after waiting over 2 hours to still not have a definitive answer on when our order would be delivered we decided to cancel. Would definitely recommend avoiding for delivery at least. Edit: now just had a guy turn up at our door at 9:25 with our order as the restaurant didn't tell the poor guy we cancelled, embarrassing
The food was bloody lovely...... the staff were very welcoming and the service was top notch even when they were finished and closed for the evening. We were the last couple in and they still were happy and smiling and attentive
Collected a takeaway early evening, ordering most main dishes to be cooked vindaloo hot as we all love hot! We travelled 11 miles a fair distance as normally worth it, home to discover our curries were very disappointing, zero heat definitely not vindaloo as ordered! Really poor and watery! If I had to guess the kitchen porter was cooking and the main chef was off. I doubt I will be using this restaurant again based on tonight.
