One of the best Indian restaurants we have been too! The location is excellent. The exterior is really nice and well presented. The welcoming lounge, entrance area is so inviting and the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. So professional. No wonder The Valley has been successful for 32 years !! After we had our welcome drinks in the reception area. We were escorted to our table upstairs. The food was sensational! So fresh, with quality ingredients. Possibly the best we have had! We ate on a Saturday night and it was very busy, but you wouldn't know it, because the service was excellent and very personal. The Valley is situated on the train platform at Corbridge. There are fantastic deals on the 'Curry Train', where you can catch the train, and be welcomed at the restaurant directly on the platform. We honestly cannot recommend The Valleys, highly enough!! Thank you X
Definitely the best Indian food I've eaten, full of flavour and freshly cooked. Lots to choose from on the menu, caters well for vegetarians too. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and out, very clean and well maintained. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend . Vegetarian options: Good variety of dishes
Wow, this was worth the 90 mile drive from Edinburgh. I tried everybody at the table's curry and they were up there with the best I've had. Some amazing and unique flavours, especially from the "chef's speciality" section which I would recommend going for there's also a vegetarian "speciality" section. They have all sorts of pilau rice too, with peas, nuts, mushrooms etc. Service was friendly, and the decor and atmosphere is really nice. Lovely interior in the old railway station.
Real gem of a restaurant this one. Food was exceptional. Highly recommended the surprise starter the service was brilliant and staff are very polite. They offer a great choice of signature dishes as well as traditional Indian cuisineFood: 5/5
Have eaten in the restaurant many times and it has always been very good but takeaways are regularly inconsistent. Spent £46 tonight and the food was average to awful. The Tarka Dahl was like soup, the lamb was tough and they got one of the orders wrong. Disappointing to say the least.
The food, ambience and staff were amazing. It was a family meal and everyone had an amazing time. Would definately recommend.
We experienced the Passage to India package and it was excellent from start to finish. We were met at Newcastle station and escorted to Corbridge on the train to the restaurant by a very pleasant member of the Team. Our order was taken but with no time pressure on us. We had the experience and menu choices explained to us. On arrival we were again welcomed and made to feel very special. Our table was ready for us and after an initial poppadom and accompaniments we were served our starters followed by our main course which were of excellent quality and in the right quantity to feel satisfied and not to leave anything behind well apart from some bread and a bit of rice. Throughout the staff were attentive but unobtrusive. Following dessert and coffee and at the gong we were escorted back to the platform where a member of the Team saw us safely onto the train back to Newcastle. At no time did we feel under any time pressure for the return train. A thoroughly special dining experience and a very pleasant evening.
The service and food are impeccable. Fresh, vibrant spices, combined with superb sides and breads. Wonderful.
Very possibly the best Indian restaurant we have been to. Delightful old ivy-clad building which was once Corbridge’s railway station booking hall The railway opened in 1835 and still runs between Newcastle and Carlisle, the platforms right alongside the restaurant and directly accessible from within. The building is divided into various joined areas on two floors and tastefully decorated. On arrival you are received in a lounge downstairs where you can have a drink while your table upstairs is readied. They even offer a special Passage to India experience where you can be escorted from Newcastle station by Indian uniformed staff who serve appetisers along the way with your table ready on arrival. The standard of hospitality and service were second to none and the food was absolutely delicious. If we didn’t live 270 miles away we’d make it a regular!
Came here tonight for my partners Birthday. Wow wow wow... Daraz and his fantastic team run a fabulous Indian restaurant. The food , Service and atmosphere was brilliant. Thank you Valley restaurant for making my partners birthday special. I would highly recommend this restaurant every time. 10/10 5 * definitely will be returning. We did the passage to India train from Newcastle to the restaurant and had drinks on the train. What an amazing experience all round. See you guys soon. Namaste.
