Great night had by all. Staff were lovely and friendly. Venue was spotless. I would recommend this establishment to all. Thank you for a great night.
Great venue for having a kids birthday party!
If I could have given 0 stars I would have, unfortunately, I can not so 1 star it is. Where do I start? I will start with the good points. I attended a christening party here on 24/04/2022. The hall was very nice, with decent prices behind the bar. I only bought soft drinks so I can't say about the prices of alcohol. The Bowling green looked well kept. If I was judging only on this I would have given it more stars. The party was going well everyone enjoying themselves. As expected the kids all ended up outside playing, since the weather was nice, several of them running around the grass. NOTHING, NOT A SINGLE THING was said by any staff members about this. That was until a 3-year-old boy my little cousin had walked out onto the green. The boys' dad had gone out onto the green to retrieve him. I know from previous visits to other bowling clubs that they ask people not to stand on the grass, which is fair enough, but try explaining that to several young children who only want to play. At this point, I was at the bar ordering some soft drinks. The woman behind the bar was complaining about them being on the grass to another staff member and told her to tell them to get off the grass, she said she would go, the woman behind the bar had told her I have asked them but tell them again. The music was loud but not loud enough for me not to hear her grumblings, about one small 3 year old on the grass. It would prove to be the case that the woman's way of asking them turned out to be storming over to the window and violently BANGING on the glass screaming "get off the grass" repeatedly. My cousin said when he looked up after lifting his son that he could see the window shake and hear her shouting at him to get his wee boy and himself off the grass. He proceeded to explain to a staff member that his little boy has just turned 3 and is also autistic and does not fully understand why he cannot walk on the grass. The member of staff told my cousin she DID NOT CARE if his son is autistic he shouldn't be on the grass, to keep him off it. He had been taken outside in the hopes of avoiding a meltdown as the loud music and people inside had started to become too overwhelming for him. This did not go to plan as the members of staff DEMANDING he get off the grass had caused him to become upset even more, and begin having a meltdown anyway. He is currently unable to speak so can't express his opinions verbally but he is capable of understanding angry tones and knew that this was aimed at him. I am shocked and appalled at this behaviour from a "Grown woman". My little cousin was singled out, there were at least 4 other children on the green, who were not asked by staff to stay off the grass. Why was he singled out? In my opinion that was discrimination against someone who has a disability. which Violates the equality act 2010. I am in no way expecting special privileges because he is autistic but a little compassion goes a VERY VERY long way. I hope that that woman never has to experience someone like her discriminating against someone she cares about, as it is not only the person being discriminated against but everyone who cares for and supports them, who is affected by it. I think it is high time that your staff are re-educated on the Equality Act 2010, educated on hidden disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, and other spectrum-related disorders and learn some COMPASSION towards those who have a disability and their parents, they often don't want special treatment, they want to be treated with respect. It is time for people to learn about Autism Acceptance. My little cousin was so upset by the whole thing that when I went outside he took my hand and gestured toward my car keys indicating he wanted to go home. We left the party at about 16:54 due to this happening. Your Facebook page says you will be having a Funday in June with a bouncy castle where will this be placed if people cannot walk on the grass? I look forward to your reply
