My pony mad Granddaughter looks forward to going to Parklands every week for her riding lesson. She started going in February having been on their waiting list. And loves all the ponies she has ridden so far. However, last weeks lesson was disappointing. The instructor during the last phase of the lesson was focused on one rider who was on a rather challenging pony. Though the little jockey did really well, the attention from the instructor went on too long. The other 5 riders in the group were just sat on their ponies for the length of time, the ponies were falling asleep. They have all paid money for a lesson. It certainly wasn't fair. I hope it doesn't happen again this week. The 2 star is for the instructor. Hope things improve. Since my above review 3 weeks ago. I have to say the content of the lessons have improved. Credit where credit is due. I would give the instructor 4 Stars. She has a good group of riders to give an interesting, learning lesson to, on lovely horses and ponies.
We visited last week and cannot recommend Sammy enough. We brought 2 ponies for saddle checks and to get a new saddle, we we're not disappointed. We we're not rushed and left to make a decision without any pressure. Given great advise a care and lovely coffee My 10 year old loved the shop which was just being finished off after the extension, we will revisit to have a look when it's all finished. We got a beautiful saddle which looked and rode well at dressage the following day. We got lots of bargain jodhpurs and a beautiful girth to match the saddle I certainly will not be going anywhere else for saddle checks and new tack. A beautiful indoor school to ride in and test out the saddles too. I was recommended Sammy by a few people and I now highly too. Thank you for a brilliant service
From start to finish this was a lovely experience. Extremely helpful on the phone, once I arrived the staff I met was fantastic. My first proper lesson in many years but was made to feel relaxed. Plenty accomplished in just half hour private lesson. Will be going back again next week. And a special mention and thank you to Clair for today.
My daughter had her first riding lesson with a lovely lady today , she brought my daughter on leaps and bounds, she’s will definitely becoming back Thankyou to the lady that gave her 1 hour lesson x
Went to parklands for 2 private lessons so far with Charlie, throughout enjoying the lessons so much and gained so much confidence already, the staff there were so friendly and approachable, made everything so easy. And I want to thank Charlie for being a amazing instructor! She’s so nice and professional! Also thank Ruth for sorting my lessons on weekends so I can continue my riding! Can’t wait to get back xxx
It's a lovely happy smiley horsey centre, with not a foul word amongst them! Everyone is very welcoming and happy to help. They're brilliant with helping people with fetching out the bags of feed to your car and putting it in for you. I have been coming to Parklands for around 14 years now on and off! I've had some refreshing lessons and learnt so much! I've also bought items and feed for my horses from the shop and have always found them to be very knowledgeable with the various items that they sell, including wormers and what time of the year the various ones are used! The new extension is fantastic, especially for a browser like me! You'll always find something for you or your horsey friend that you didn't think that you so badly needed and just must have!!
My child went here for a few years and enjoyed learning to ride and developing her skills. I thought they stood around a little too long but she made progress so she was happy. It is a shame I'm leaving 1 star a staff member would swear at my child and despite informing the site this continued which led to my child leaving the hobby. I don't subject my child to that language and I don't expect others to at a professional outfit.

This post in relation to the shop. Purchased an unsatisfactory item which I believe is a “second” but was sold as new Staff offer little advice, were rude and dismissive this can also be said for the owner of business whom when I seek a resolution he response was and I quote “ you do what you need to do” Instead of trying resolve the problem they simply washed their hands of issue and clearly do not care what distress they have caused me. Their customer care and complaint procedure doesn’t exist - I will NEVER shop here again nor would I recommend anyone else to.
I had a gentle lesson this afternoon as its been on my bucket list. Both Claire and Robin were so very kind with me and it was a lovely experience. Thank you so much PositiveCommunication, Quality, Professionalism, Value
