This is an older hotel block that's had a makeover. Decor is contemporary but the rooms are small. Friendly front of house staff who did their best. Adequate parking, don't limited security. There is a small pool, gym and restaurant. We didn't eat there but wish we'd tried it as the pub across the road unfortunately offered badly cooked prefabricated food presented by friendly but fairly hopeless staff. Not a great night at the hotel. Poor soundproofing means noises through the walls TVs. Mobile phone conversations and noisy plumbing from the floor above. Quite a LP of late night activity in the corridor Friday night. I'm not a picky reviewer normally but this stay was no better than OK.
Easily accessible and free parking. Rooms were decent size however when we got into ours they must have painted it that day as it stank of fresh paint. They had left the window wide open bearing in mind it was -1°c outside so we shut that and tried to put the heating on and that didn't work either. So we froze for the night Breakfast was alright just needed to avoid the bread as it was covered in mould. Lovely staff though!
Clean, double room with decent amount of space for the price so very pleased. Everything you'd need for a short stay including iron + board, laundry & dry cleaning services, TV with free view and radio and even a personal safe which was a nice addition. Parking was convenient and easily accessible from the entrance and included in the price and looked to be covered by CCTV cameras. The bar and menu were reasonably priced. Others within our party made use of the gym facilities and said they were happy with the facilities and services offered. Public transport was easy enough to access and private hire to and from the city centre was reasonably priced. Overall a pleasant stay.
I attended a meeting at the inn and was impressed by the clean, smart building and interior, with friendly staff and great food. The room we were in had great views and was very spacious. I haven't stayed here so I can't say if the rooms and facilities are good, but for meetings it is a great venue to use.
When we arrived we were greeted by a receptionist who paid very little attention to us and forgot to ask one of us to sign a form. When I ordered room service I had to go down to the restaurant anyway to pay by card. The room had a stained carpet, air-con that was broken and didn't turn on, dated decor and very little sound-proofing on the windows. At £125/night with breakfast which wasn't great either I can't recommend this place to anyone. On a plus note, the restaurant staff were lovely.
I stayed for one night for a work meeting. The venue was comfortable, the food was good and staff were friendly and helpful so all in all a good trip. One minor point: the soap dispensers are not particularly well designed and a lot of it can end up on the floor, true for both dispensers in the rooms and also the communal bathrooms.
Nice, clean, very helpful staff and great service. Decent breakfast included in what was a very good price on the advance deal less than £60. Air con in room didn't work to heat the room, only cool. I'm sure this would have been sorted but it was late when I arrived and I couldn't be bothered going back to reception and asking. A little noisy but nothing that kept me awake.
We stay here a lot. The staff have always been very friendly and the rooms clean. We had our 13 year old son last weekend and they upgraded the room and supplied the extra bed free. Easy access to the city either a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride. Great pubs on the walk into the City.
The rooms are very functional and relaxed. As well as this within the building they have an adorable little aesthetic cafeteria that serves all sorts of morning beverages and foods. They even have large glass tubs with fresh juices and fruit in. Another notable point about their kitchen is the staff. Lovely. There is room for improvement in the cooking department however.
Service was polite & efficient. Room was small & basic. Good location if you want access to the city centre but don't want to stay in the city centre, also, ample free parking. Limited selection of drinks in the bar & very expensive. Service was extremely slow in the restaurant in the evening despite it not being very busy. Food was nice & portions were good, overall good value. Breakfast was also good quality but lacked a number of the usual suspects.
