Aggressive security who interrogate and bully people in the building whether they are violating any rules or not, kitchen was filthy upon moving in, beds are uncomfortable and even with a mattress topper have painfully noticeable springs sticking out, desks are a good size but floor space is very limited and security do not notify us when they have our packages nor follow up on issues eg losing power to all outlets in my room for two days during online lectures and having nothing done about it until I enquired again. I chose Green Park House after reading reviews about friendly security who make the occupants feel safe-- however the reality is anything but. I would advise anyone considering this accommodation to look elsewhere:
Pretty clean and large guest room, equipped with cooking utilities. Not far away from the city center, around 10 minutes' walk. Later, found out that this place is originally meant for student accomodation. It has a pretty informal reception style, while reception service is 24/7. After check-out, the guest may store their luggage at the premise for a certain duration for free, which is a great plus for tourists.
No A/C, very warm, the window opens only a few cm safety lock and next to a busy street, so you have to choose a reason not to sleep: too warm or too noisy. People probably choose to keep it warm, that's why the pillows smell like sweat. You can hear the person upstairs moving around, so you don't need an alarm to wake up. Otherwise, very clean, friendly staff and well located.
Very well situated in the centre of Bath. Near everywhere, though apartments could be a little cleaner and have a better equipped kitchen. Not intented for cooking, no space to eat if more than 1. They are clearly student's rooms to sleep, study and have breakfast or a light snack. Good price for Bath city centre!
Good place to live, with cleaners for kitchen garbage everyday and kitchen clean up once a month that makes it great for student. Close to center of town and therefore Clubs, Pubs, Grocery store and more. One problem, close to a busy road so noisy when you want to sleep.
Great location! Only 5 minutes walk from the centre and there's a Sainsburys or a Tesco close by for snacks. Hotel room lovely and clean, even provides a toaster! No TV but that didn't bother me as I took my laptop. Only issue I had was with the bed. The mattress is waterproof so the outer I'd a weird, plasticy material that was very uncomfortable to sleep on, even with the mattress sheet over the top. I ended up sleeping between the two halves on my duvet; good thing I came alone! Slept well nonetheless. Would definitely use this accommodation again.
Student accomodation with a little kitchenette, bathroom and bed. Everything is clean and the double rooms are quite spacious. The only thing I didn't like was the mattress. It was very lumpy, thin and uncomfortable.
It's a beautiful accommodation and pocket friendly too. I must say I enjoyed every bit of my stay. The staff are also very good. It's also near a beautiful Park.
The promo photos of the Green House on the university web site and Facebook looked quite attractive. What they didn’t advertise though is: * the A367 road just a few meters from the building, which means all the rattling trucks, buses and police cars, etc. are perfectly heard even through the shut windows. * Green Park across A367 with young people ‘parting’ loudly there, with drinks and everything else, every evening, * the Brassiere and the Bath Brew House next to the building with loud music and parties every night. * the heavy inside doors that are almost impossible not to slam, so I hear the doors slamming even in the neighbouring flats I am in a ‘duplex’ flat with three other flat-mates * drunk students outside shouting ‪till 3am‬, every night. Therefore, I experience constant noise.  Also, it's enough just pass the yard of the building to catch a whiff of weed, few times a week although I didn’t deliberately wander around sniffing. For a few times, the smell of weed probably through the ventilation was perceivable in my room which fact the accommodation representatives verbally admitted since my flat-mate complained about it too. My another flat-mate was suspended for a month from the accommodation because he passed out in the kitchen overdosed. Also: * the blackout on the 29nd of November my photos are attached, ‪from 9pm‬ till about midnight, so I as many other students had to spend three hours in a cafe with my course reading; the next evening I spent again in a cafe waiting for my laundry because the house laundromat was broken until the next day. * my flatmate’s parties in the kitchen after ‪11pm‬ which is against the house handbook, so twice for the last two months I had to call the security ‪at 1 am‬, who, to be fair, reacted quite fast and professionally. The Resident Tutor had a meeting with my flat-mate and me another hour lost; I am not sure if it helped. * On Halloween some students in the building, ‘just for fun’ I assume, threw things from their windows - something light, like a piece of dirty cloth — into random people outside on the street not in the yard, I had barely avoided it as I was passing by and had to call the security who reacted as swiftly as always. * Throughout the previous week there was terrifically cold inside, despite the small heaters in the rooms. Three or four weeks ago I saw a student, an Asian girl, fell on the floor in the lobby and keep lying; I instantly helped her to stand up and she said she was just ‘exhausted because of the cold inside’. Probably I was lost in translation, but, having always considered myself quite resistant to chill, I caught cold and spent three days in bed with fever never happened before for a year that I had spent in England. * the fortnight cleaning by the accommodation staff of the communial areas, such as the kitchen and the corridor, twice just didn’t happen.
Clean and quiet. The room was very nice comfortable and the small kitchen was very practical. Very close to the sights and the train station. Security is A+.
