Papa's

visited Weston Super Mare on business and everyone kept telling me to go to Papa's as it has 'the best fish and chips in the West'. As a Yorkshire lad I've had better(difference between Atlantic and North Sea Cod perhaps?) and the lack of curry or gravy irked me somewhat . Still, lovely atmosphere and great service and the fried foods weren't too greasy in the eating which is always a bonus. Was a bit concerned that I saw many beards and extravagant moustaches and not a beard net in sight. Would go again when I'm next in that neck of the woods.

Trust me, you will not get better fish and chips than this. Please be prepared to wait as all food is freshly cooked to order. The service from the staff is first class always. I love this place.

Locals know Papas as the best fish and chips in town. Fresh, well cooked fish, great chips. Always cooked to order so you have to wait ten minutes, and at peak periods there will be a long queue. But it's worth waiting for the best.

What a little gem of a fish and chips restaurant. Excellent food, good generous portions and fab service. Will definitely go again and recommend to my friends.

If this place is the best fish and chips in town, I am wondering how is the rest of businesses who sell it at 1/2 price. Cod is fresh but doesn't taste 10£ . Portions are generous though. Chips are not very tasty, flat and dry. Not sure on what basis this place was proclaimed as "the best". It is just ok but nothing more for me. Try once and make your judgement.
