This hotel is a gem! The staff were warm, friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. Particular praise to Adam who gave us some really useful advice! The room was spacious, warm and the bed was very comfortable. Great bath too. We both really enjoyed the food. From a lovely evening meal with fantastic deep fried King Prawns to a quality Full English breakfast with plum tomatoes finishing it off nicely. Can’t recommend it enough. We can’t wait to return. Keep up the good work!!
Passing on our way home and stopped for some food as it looked like a really nice place. Sadly, we couldn't order any food until 6.30 pm , which meant we would have to wait an hour to order so we left. The barman/manager recommended a couple of other places, wish he hadn't as we didn't get a very nice meal and would have been better off going home for a sandwich. Better luck next time.
Our 3rd long weekend visit to the hotel. And loved it again. All a bit quirky but in a really good way. Staff top notch. Family Room really good. Lovely breakfast. All in all a very pleasant stay and so close to the beach. We’ll see everyone again next year!Rooms: 4/5
Amazing place. We stopped here to eat with our disabled special needs son and the staff went above and beyond to help out. Best steak and ale pie I've ever had. Hospitality at its very best.
Fantastic weekend stay, my wife and I had a very enjoyable weekend. Positives are the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable quite qurky in a good way. The bar drinks and the staff service, and the food easy 5 stars. Some real gems here in Brett, Donna and Adam, well done your all faultless. Friendly, efficient staff with good range of drinks. Great location. Not so good on the first day was the breakfast experience, much improved on the second day. With some organisation and attention to detail, this could be improved. The food was of high quality though for the 2 evening meals we had, and the breakfasts. Highly recommended, cant wait to come back.
We were told you can book Sunday carvery up to 13:45 which we did, when we order the pork we were told "there's been a run in pork, that's the trouble with having a late lunch!" Surely if you offer a 3 meet carvery until almost 2pm you should have food until 2pm!! Having said that the beef was some of the best we've EVER had and the service was polite and friendly.
Went here for a large family get together for carvery lunch. Lovely food, very tender meat and lots of vegetables to choose from. Delicious puddings. Service good, very accommodating.Service: 5/5
My friends and I booked in for a Sunday roast. It has been 40yrs since we left school...Tennyson school Mablethorpe . Only the 6 of us. The food was excellent. The beef fell apart and the roast potatoes were beautiful and crunchy. The veg was lovely and fresh . We will certainly be back. Thankyou from the Girls of 1982
This review is based on the restaurant not a stay at the hotel. We had lunch in the garden which was just a panini and a sandwich, both were fine and the garden is a nice area to sit in the sun. We also returned to have a carvery lunch h on a Sunday. There was a choice of beef, bacon amd pork, then a selection a vegetables, Yorkshire pudding etc. All were reasonable for the price of £11.50 each and it tasted fine. The desert selection sadly is just cold items, we had the lemon meringue which was bland and tasteless so avoid it. It would have been nice to see a traditional hot pudding as an option. The restaurant area is fairly dated and seems stuck in a time warp, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and the service was fine. This is fine if you want a fair priced Sunday lunch, you do need to book though.
The Bacchus is a very old establishment. Been a few times and stayed in the hotel as well as the glamping chalets. Always good for food and a drink. But it's the location in Sutton on sea that really makes it worth a stay over. The beach is so long and perfect for walking off your dinner!!Rooms: 4/5
