Lovely part of the Cotswolds. Car park is a good size and easy to find.
Had a lovely walk around the Beacon today, still lots of snow around. We live just down the Road, so no unnecessary travel, could have walked there, but after our walk yesterday around Robinswood Hill.
"Car park" might be a bit grand - there are a series of areas to pull into off the road with one larger one. All are fairly rough terrain but perfectly servicable, free of charge and metres away from the Beacon itself which is beautiful.
Here is a clever thing. There are spaces off the road where you can leave vehicles, elephants and other large objects whilst you go for a stroll over common land. Much better than blocking the whole road by leaving your car in the middle.
An informal carpark. No facilities. Beautiful area. There are good views of the Cotswold escarpment and the Vale of Gloucester from the Beacon. Be aware that there is electrified fencing bordering the golf course one of my girls got quite a shock
Free parking babyyyyy
I don't think many people know how to park at the car park, as most cars are all over the place. Furthermore there is a deep dip between the road's camber and the high edge of the parking strip.
It is good and free. And within short walk of 5 to 7 minutes Or may be 10 to 15 minutes with kids, you can enjoy pleasent scenery!
A good place to start your country walk.
Free car parking and only yards away from the beacon. Excellent walks.
