Went to see miss saigon, which itself was 10/10. Theatre isn't perfect but my biggest criticism are all architectural and I fully understand that can't be helped... it was incredibly hot but I think they had some technical issues as they had to shut one bar and weren't able to sell ice cream in the auditorium as usual due to the heat. Seats in the stalls arent the comfiest, but a shit load of legroom which was fab. Every seat has great views due to the sloping auditorium and open, unimpeded design. Would go again, but not over other similar scale theatres within a one hour radius of my home...
Disability Access Post:nnIts a bit complicated. There is disabled parking around the area but no free spaces easily found and drop off is tricky as well.nnHowever they have a disabled platform at the back - its best to phone to book.nnIf you can transfer then any aisle seat is ok although the slope is a bit vicious.nnThe lift is usher operated - so ask for the Accessibility Usher when you arrive and they will sort you out.nnThis is something I have never seen before - they have a list of everyone's location and needs.nnYou can take bottles and glasses to your seat which is a glamorous touch and they will bring your interval drinks to you you can pre-book online.nnThe access card scheme gives not only a complementary companion tickets but also reduced ticket price as well - what a treat !
Wonderful old venue in the heart of Oxford. Staff are cool and friendly nnTruckers! It sucks. If you go in during the day it really sucks. In an artic you'll need to do some maneuvering, but the crew will help you. You cannot stay on site. Loading out at night is a lot easier than loading in.
Great theatre I have seen a Motown musical and a few 80s popstars in recent years. My saw Chris Rea, about twenty years ago, who we lost recently a wonderful musician. It's a theatre near the railway station, and bus station. Plenty pub's and restaurants near by.
Amazing Theatre with some Fantastic shows. In the centre of Oxford, close to parking, restaurants and pubs. We love visiting this Theatre. Only downside, for the size of venue there is very limited toilets and on our last visit one set of toilets was not working which left 1 toilet for the whole theatre. Not good enough, could be a Health and Safety issue.
