This is the main of two railway stations serving Oxford the other being Oxford Parkway. It's a small 4 platforms with little of a main terminus. Connections to London, Manchester, Bristol and local Chiltern Railways. Architecturally, it's not one of the underappreciated Victorians works, but a modern 1990s renovation. Compared to most UK stations, it's reasonably sheltered and warm. Free public toilets. Like most UK stations, staff are friendly and helpful. There is a very large bike rack outside the station. I believe it's one of the busiest stations in the South East of England, and it feels busy, but it doesn't feel impossibly busy.
This was a superb station for both arrival and departure, with lengthy platforms for the long distance services! Departure boards are kept up to date, entrance area is very accessible from the street and has plenty of waiting spaces to sit. Navigation is easy from the signs, bridge leads well across the station and cleanliness was enforced!
A very nice station, staff were friendly and let me through to do some videos. Station infrastructure is nice and doesn't look run down.nnThere are only 4 Platforms at this station. Platform 3 is in front of you as you enter and is quite busy.nPlatforms 1 and 2 are on the right as you enter just past the bridge and not as busy.nPlatform 4 is opposite Platform 3 and is accessible via lift, there is a lift up to the footbridge and down to Platform 4.nnRemember, if you need extra assistance, remember to ask staff who will be happy to help!nnExtra info:nParking Places on Right of Station Meduim SizednnLarge Bike Place, but it's always rammed You always have to couple up with someone else on one of the StandsnnToilets located on Platform 4 Quite small and will be hard for wheelchair accessiblitynnCafe as you enter No Free Water places
Poor management, rude staffnDelays and cancellations are never announced clearly. Staff is never willing to help and answer questions. Definitely whoever is in charge doesn’t do good job
For a busy station, there is not enough seating available.nPlenty of food and drink outlets.nCleannToilets available.nTicket machines as well as ticket desks.nCustomer services desk where noone came to assist us. We spoke to the staff member the other side of the barrier.nOther than that a typical train station.
