Oxford is a great town. Here is so much to see and enjoy. It's a typical college town, with many international students all around, which makes for a young and vibrant atmosphere.
This is the first time I have travelled on this network. One of the staff...Jack, was so very helpful. I'm 80 years old. He explained everything to me, and helped by keeping me informed. He was such a lovely, helpful person. Not many times have I seen this level of care. The station was clean, places to eat and buy food. A good experience
It's a well maintained, neat railway station, the staffs are friendly. Quick snack options are there. It has less number of benches to sit, so if it's crowded, you know. Outside the railway station, there is a bus station. You can get the city bus, Oxford city hop on hop off bus, etc..
Has a fair number of shops inside the station and around it. Clean waiting areas and toilets. The toilets can get a bit too busy during peak time though. Usually helpful staff and clear signage.
Oxford is one of the grimest and not-fit-for-purpose stations on the network for a city of its size. It's also nowhere near the city centre - horrid in the rain to walk to town.nNarrow platforms and bottlenecks, lack of entry gates there's always a queue to get onto the platform, old and overall unpleasant.
