Oxford is one of the best cities in England for a day trip from London. It has beautiful historic buildings, famous university colleges, museums, cafés and a lovely old-city atmosphere.n Beautiful architecture — especially around the university buildings.n Bodleian Library & Radcliffe Camera are must-see sights.n Walking around the historic Oxford University area feels special.n Great city for exploring on foot.n Punting on the River Cherwell is a fun experience, especially with children.n‍‍‍ Lots of family-friendly attractions and museums.n Excellent for photography.n Things to knownIt can get very busy, particularly on weekends and during tourist season.nParking in the centre can be expensive/difficult, so travelling by train is often easier.nDefinitely worth visiting! If you have only one day, you can see the main historic centre, visit a college/library, explore the Covered Market and enjoy a relaxed walk by the river.
A seat of scholars for 800 years, Oxford houses Britain’s oldest university, botanical gardens, and pubs. It has more quadrangles, gothic spires and listed buildings than you can shake a gown at. Add cobbled lanes, canals and the odd punt along its rivers and it becomes a real heart-breaker.
Great place for one day trip from London by train. Walk around or take a guided tour. Visit colleges, pedestrian street, covered market, museums or Harry Potter filming sets, lern about connetcions with the Lord of the Rings or Alice in the Wonderland.
I had an amazing time exploring Oxford! Beyond the famous colleges, the city has a wonderful energy with its bustling markets, street performances, and hidden alleyways. We were lucky enough to catch some cultural performances that really brought the city's artistic side to life. There is so much more to do here than just see the landmarks—the museums and cafes are fantastic too.
Very historical place with one of the oldest university in the UK. Must to see and explore all the campus and area incl Harry Potter tree.
