Landlord is extremely friendly and welcoming. Had a delicious meal - nothing pretentious - good honest fare cooked and seasoned to perfection. Couldn't have asked for better. If you are walking the Offa's Dyke Path as we were, then cannot recommend highly enough!
The warmest welcome! Knowing I had been on a long walk, I was shown to a table near the fire. Mouthwatering menu, hearty portions, a cheerfulness that warmed my heart as much as the fire did. Huge thanks. This was just perfect.

Very gloomy. Needs decorating and draught proofing so that it isn't so cold. The net was good, though.
Bad drinks not chilled we had wine that tasted disgusting and a blackcurrant and soda tasted like tomato not recommended wouldent even dare to try there food and no gin also looked and smelt unpleasant
Little gem of a place. The bar is a bit rustic and worn but the dining room is excellent. However what makes this place is the enthusiasm of the landlord and the friendliness of the staff. Coupled with well maintained beer and excellent food I recommend to any traveller.
What a surprise! Rustic appearance of pub belies the excellent food and service. Extensive menu and the food was top class.
The friendliest place I've ever visited in my whole life, 2 visits in 1 week! 4 generations of 1 family and we all loved it! The chef cooks better steak than Gordon Ramsay and the landlord was a true gent, 6 stars!!
Excellent friendly welcome and hospitality, great Sunday roast, dog friendly bar area with tables where food is served. Great dining room. Recommended.
