Recently refurbished and now called Mariners. My 'small' cod and chips was more than enough and came with lemon slices which was a lovely surprise! The staff were friendly and the food was freshly cooked but not overly greasy. I prefer my chips a little more crispy on the outside but overall it was very tasty and reasonably priced. I will definitely go back to try more from the extensive menu.
Great service, lovely staff and absolutely fantastic food! Their large chips are actually LARGE! Same with their fish, that's very big too. Absolutely awesome place to grab something to eat if you don't feel like cooking.
Always had good service, nice food and at a reasonable price. Quite a lot of youths hanging around outside being loud, not necessarily bad lads or doing anything wrong, but feels a little intimidating to be there later in the evenings when there are lots of teenager boys messing around out front. Prefer to go there daytime or very early tea time for this reason.
Just had large fish n chips and battered sausages for our tea, fish was overcooked, chips were cooked in oil that was not hot enough so they soaked more oil than should done, best part of tea was sausages, the guy cooking didn't seem to really care and was sat down yawning at one point, had only been open about hour n half. VERY DISAPPOINTED, have had better from here.
Great portion sizes, we always order Tiddler and Chips as this is the perfect size for one person! Some days it is cooked nicer than other days, but overall it is nice food
After going to this fish and chip shop there was two ladys in front of me the staff working was 4 two women with one young lad and one older guy . After the order was taken by one of the lady's she turned round to to wrap one order . I was not ask what I like to have for my order after 4 mim wishing to be ask what I like by one of the staff working not one ask me what I like to have .they could see I was standing there on the other side . But none ask what I like to order so I walk out . When I got home I phoned up Thisc fish and chip shop to speak to the older guy on the phone who said could not hear me once he did hear me I told him I was standing there buy no one ask for my order even when they seem me that the two ladys I front had their order taken but not mine he said sorry for that . I then said will no go else where he said to me you have to go else where then won't you and put the phone gone on me this is so bad service and so bad from the start you don't talk to people like that in any way all you list was a big order being so badly in service from the start ?happy days is you not get me back there any more
Used to be the bast in Plymouth. .... not any more service is terrible I made my order came to more hands expected but that's fine only to find whenew I collect it the chips I payed for were he size up from what I wanted then I get home pass out he food to family and the chips are dripping in oil the batter is facing off the fish and he pie is cold on the inside nearly 30 pound on a less than half edible meal not again
Moved out of area 4 years ago yet will still drive past many chippies just to come here for the best fish and chips ans the humblest service. You can take the person out of efford but they'll always come back for chips
Food was ok, but I can't stand it when fish and chip shops give individual potions. Quite slow to get your order.
Lovely fish and chips. Very friendly staff. Good sized portions.
