A delightful 30 min clickety click journey to and from Preston. The station toilet doesn’t seem to be improving though although it must get some hammer at this busy little station. Great little unit opposite the station to let to any aspiring entrepreneur.
Very helpful staff at the ticket desk today. Avanti strikes on our onward journey and staff helped us plan an alternative route to London which was accurate and most helpful. Thank you for extra time with us today.
Staff Lesley was rude and unwelcoming, taking out a previous negative interaction on every customer before me and myself. Asked for a return ticket to Aintree and back, rolled her eyes and gave me just the one ticket. I went back to get the second one and again, the horrendous customer service and gave the sense that they would rather be anywhere else. Gave me two tickets, and now i have a spare which I do not need, but I am unwillingly to speak to her again for a refund with her disgusting attitude towards other people. Makes what should have been a short and enjoyable trip into something out of a nightmare.
Ormskirk is a lovely little station, which a regular connection to Liverpool and Preston. The station is clean and tidy and there is ample seating inside the station building although platform 2 could do with additional seating.nnThe ticket office staff are always friendly and helpful, there is usually a small queue, but it always moves quickly.nnThe station is easy to get to from the bus station, it also has a free to use car park, although it normally appears full by mid-morning.
Nice station, quite clean compared to other stations along the Mersey line, things in general have become quite a lot cleaner along the railway!
