First and last visit. Online booking too complicated. Tried ringing, no answer. Arrived there - small pool closed, big pool water - freezing for adult, nevermind for children. So paid £10 just to use the shower that you needs to be pressed in every 3 seconds. Changing rooms dirty, hair all over, stinking.nO ly benefit - free hairdryers and cafe on site
Opening hours are not fit for purpose-this is a leisure facility for patrons to use when they are not at work, it's not an office existing for the benefit of its staff. The pool closes at 4pm on Saturdays meaning you need to be there by 3pm and does not open again until 11.30am on Sundays, splitting up your weekend for doing other things. Similarly, it's closed on public holidays such as when I arrived at 5pm on 11th July and it was already closed until 15th July I kid you not and even then only open a half day. Every day it's potluck whether you'll get a swim or not with lessons/galas/random closures taking place or no swimming lanes available. Two out of four of the relaxation suite facilities are indefinitely out of order with no explanation or reduction in admission or membership fees. The centre condition is generally dilapidated with shower heads missing/broken and many of the member changing lockers with missing hangers.
Good facilities but DESPERATE NEED OF FUNDING, Rusted bars, steam room not working but great staff
Great public leisure centre with swimming pool, Fully equipped gym, sauna, jacuzzi and a large host of training facilities. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and always willing to help. There are a number of programs available to suit all your needs. They take care of all needs and cater very well for all abilities. Full disability support with lifts and access to pool. Photography notnPermitted inside so very safe for children. There is a restaurant which serves great food. On site play area for kids as well. Parking can be busy at times
Up to 3 weeks ago I found difficult to swim in here. Anti-clockwise swimming it has been barely observed and this it has been allowing for a very limited number of customers to use one lane =2 per lane instead of 4-5. Number of lane often ulteriorly restricted because of the swim club and 2-3 lane merged in one big big lane??nI really hope signs have been put and to be able to use the swimming pool in the future otherwise it doesn't make sense for me to have subscription.nnEdit: Not changed. Early in the morning available 3 max 4 lane, no anti-clockwise swimming. People rely on other people leaving after a while to leave their place in the lane, as two people max per lane is the consequence of no anti-clockwise swimming. The rest of the swimming pool is 3-4 lane merged into a big one, where people seem to try to swim without crossing each other, and for this, an even smaller number of people fit in that space. Asked to one of the staff members why no anti-clockwise swimming system and the reason of the big huge lane, but they actually didn't know why. I was asked few times, in the past and now, by other customers there to use the pool, while swimming in my lane, when would I leave so that they could take my place. Because of my back condition I can't swim fast and It takes me longer to do few lenghts and strenghten my muscles, so I felt really uncomfortable for the request. I explained however to one of these persons that if we were swimming clockwise we could fit even in 4 -5. The other person in my same lane was happy enough to do that, and the new one was really happy too! So I don't understand why is that not always applied anti-clockwise swimming. However, most of the times, apparently, that is how it works 2 persons per lane, first to arrive takes the space.nIn the female members reserved changing room also people have the tendency to occupy for themselves the cabins, which are only 2 available, for an unprecised amount of time while they shower etc. Which can leave you to actually wait for a very long time, before being able to change yourself into your working clothes It happened few times already as they prefer to do this way rather than leaving their belongings in the locker and the cabin available in the meantime while showering. So the facilities for the non members are a better choice, because there are plenty of cabins and if you have to go and run to work after swimming, you don't risk to have to wait to get actually changed.nMost of the staff at the entrance is very nice.
