Be aware!!! The parking operator has a maximum stay of 5hrs which considering this is a location for a cinema and restaurants is unacceptably short. This limit is not clearly signposted throughout the car park. It appears on the normal sized text of the charges which is only visible by the pay machines or a few parking spots. The overstay charge is stated as £100. This is unscrupulous practice by the parking operator.
Access off the internal road past filling station is a pain and would be much improved if a roundabout was installed with a earlier access only into the main car park closer to M&S. Add in the inevitable queues on Hitchcock Way and these make what is an OK carpark a hassle to use. Needs some improvement whilst restriction to only 2 hrs free without using check out is a further obstruction to use of this car-park.
2 hours free parking. Plenty of spaces, close to the shops. The biggest issue is the choke point access. Planners under estimated peak time traffic on the access road. So be prepared to queue a bit on entry and exit on a Saturday and busy shopping times.
Overall its a good carpark, can get very packed but even so it shouldn’t take too long to find a parking place to park your car or motorcycle, and you also do get around 2 hours for free which is great if you are going around the shops nearby as it usually takes around 2 hours to go around most the shops.
