I have walked past this place on a number of occasions not realizing it existed, we were going to a concert at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow and searched for restaurants in the area and it popped up, booked a table a refundable booking fee is required and off we went. On arrival we were met by a really nice friendly young lady led us to our table in a warm, comfortable well lit restaurant area. It is a good menu but concentrates heavily on steak of various cuts, there is a small starter menu, and the starters are a bit on the small size, that is because the mains are huge, cooked to a high standard, and well presented. To quote Elvis, it was a Hunk a Hunk of sizzling beef. The bottle of Italian wine we ordered was reasonably priced and good quality and went well with the beef. We also had a pudding which was again a sizable endeavor requiring not just one sweet tooth and not for the faint hearted, at the end of the meal my jaws were sore from eating, coffee was very good also. There is a reasonably comprehensive wine and drinks list. Toilets were clean and fresh. The staff were friendly, quite chatty, helpful and professional and the service was excellent. The food is excellent and the service commendable. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant.
I’m not sure it’s the best steak in Glasgow, but it’s one of the best. Staff deserve a mention as they were fantastic. We got a table on a Saturday at short notice and they were ultra efficient and friendly. Steaks were good but not amazing. Peppercorn sauce and chips were flawless. Pudding was decadent and huge. Wine prices a bit steep but that’s the norm especially in meaty venues. All in all a great meal but just lacking the culinary wow factor for me. I would return and recommend tho
This "little" restaurant is super cool place to eat. Mini by name but maxi by nature the only small things on the menu are the starters. Thank goodness as what follows is gargantuan. Starters are really well presented, served quickly and are just fantastic. Tasty, TASTY. Move on to the main course, we hade a rib eye and a sirloin. You will see the images they were enormous. Cooked medium as recommended they were well rested so no leak of blood or juice. But biting into them they were suculant and full of flavour. They came with a lovely dressed salad and thik cut hand made chips. The pudding has a small range on the menu, but again don't fall down. If you can manage it after such a huge meal. Go for it. In Glasgow, looking for a real good steak or just an excellent meal. This is a must to visit. Staff are friendly, quick and helpful.the restaurant is quirky, cosy and family friendly. Go enjoy.
If you are a carnivore and happen to find yourself in Glasgow, you need to go here! The staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating! Their quality of service was only outmatched by the taste and quality of their food. We didn't have a reservation, but Carla the hostess made it personal mission to get us a table. We were also waited on by Wee Emma and Zoe. To start, we had seared scallops which were perfectly cooked! We also ordered the haggis trio. If you think you've had good haggis, you haven't. This was by far the best haggis I've ever had. Our mains were the venison, a bone-in ribeye, sirloin steak, the Glasgow burger which had the most tender and delicious beef cheek on it, drool. Then a kids cheeseburger which honestly looked big enough to feed an adult! Then some local to Scotland ciders that were super yummy! Very impressed with the entire experience.
Fantastic place for a great meal. Food is fabulous, cooked to perfecting properly rested. The starters may feel a little prissy, but taste wonderful and don't fill you up for the massive main course. All round great place to start of a night at the theatre or just for a family dinner in the city.
Top quality steak restaurant on Bath Street in Glasgow. We sat downstairs and went for Scottish King Scallops to start. 4 arrived on the plate and they were really good, bit of a meaty flavour and texture to them. For mains we ordered the Chateaubriand cooked medium rare. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Came with 2 sides and 2 sauces. Went with chips, peppercorn sauce and chimchurri sauce. Highly recommend.
After arriving in Glasgow we wanted to find somewhere nice to eat close by to our Ibis hotel. The mini grill steakhouse had excellent reviews and looked like it offered some very nice steaks as well as burgers, pork and haggis meals. We booked a reservation and our table was ready on time and the restaurant wasn't over crowded. We ordered drinks, starters and mains and all came very quickly and the food was very tasty and good value for money. Cant really fault the food, our glasgow trip was off to a great start.
Oh I love steaks and this place’s food certainly didn’t disappoint. Oh arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and she took us to our table. My wife and I were the only ones there but more people did arrive shortly after. The menu isn’t too extensive but to me that means quality over quantity. We did notice that one of our knives was a little dirty but a quick wipe sorted that out. The other waitress that served us was also nice, although a little rougher. The food was brilliant! We both ordered the ribeye steak cannot remember the exact name and it was so tender and delicious. All the accompaniments were also really nice. My wife got haggis filled Yorkshire pudding and I got roasted Rosemary potatoes. The highlight for me was the chimichurriIf sauce. It was easily the best I’ve had not had it many times and tasted delightful. Our desserts were also very nice. I got the raspberry soufflé and my wife got the honeycomb meringue thing. Both of which were quite unique but very nice. I really like the portions were excessive that you get at most places these days but big enough to satisfy you. Our dinner was responsibly priced considering the quality of the meal. It would be wrong of me if I did mention some negatives, even if they are so minor. I was being picky, I noticed that the waitress that served us was a little lazy when putting the cutlery down as they weren’t straight the small details are important especially at a expensive restaurant. When asking what a particular sauce was she didn’t appear too familiar with it and didn’t sell it very well. We just had water at our table but I noticed that they had limited supply of alcohol as another table had to get offered something else as their original request wasn’t fulfilled. Despite these minor negatives we still had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.
Good food in here, 500 gram sirloin is a right good feed, mine came with chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and Blue Cheese sauce which is actually served cold..sauce is very tasty, but a warm sauce for me is the preference. Good service, 5 starters, 5 steaks, 5 desserts, lots of drinks 370.. not at all expensive and good staff.. Will return for sure...
Popped in for a light bite today and was so impressed. Prompt, friendly service and the most delicious starter: the Mini Haggis, with some rosemary roast potatoes. Washed down with a gorgeous Lost Orchard cider. Compliments to the chef on the haggis because it was exceptional.
