2nd visit in 2 weeks. Great discounted menu with different options each day. Tuesday today happened to be 50% off Pizzas. The 'Carvery' Calzone made by young Alex chef was amazing, filled with a very generous selection of meats from the Carvery. Partner had Hawaian Pizza with stuffed crust. Again, it tasted great. Both were stone baked. Definately worth a visit again.
Visited while staying in nearby Thornton Hough. We have been here before but many years ago. The first thing you MUST do if arriving in your own vehicle is to input your vehicle reg into the console that is situated at the left of the bar or you will get a fine in the post. We ordered our meals, 3 courses for under £15 off a set menu. We sat looking out over the beer garden and the Parkgate marshland. Starters and mains arrived nicely spaced but we sat for a good while and still no dessert. In the end I had to go upto the bar and chase it up. That was a shame as it wasn't overly busy so strange as to why it happened. Nice area for visitors, ample car park, nice food. May get very busy on a weekend though so be prepared. Parking: Camera in carpark so input reg inside Street parking to the front and along Parkgate Kid-friendliness: It's a family place to dine Wheelchair accessibility: Seating areas on different levels so might find choice of area difficult
Fantastic service and care from Tilly tonight. She was really happy to greet us and made sure we had an enjoyable visit. The only criticism was the carvery meat carver was again creating a mess of carving, and all three plates ended up with fragments of a cut. It's a shame as we have stayed away because of this, and there's been no change.
Amazing food! Tried the new menu & had hunters Mac and cheese- it was fab! All the team were so lovely & the manageress Terri was brill too! Loved the live music- will be back again soon!Food: 5/5
Carvery here is one of the best on the Wirral, in fact I'd feel challenged to find somewhere better for the price. The carvery chef is always lovely and from being in the business myself for years I can tell he generally cares about his food and the clientele. Keep it up StoneHouse and make sure you're giving these chefs good incentives to continue their passion in such a challenging industry. See you soon
really nice destination carvey at parkgate, quite a large car park just remember to validate your parking by entering your reg into the machine at the bar. There's a broad range of food and drinks, the carvey was a good price, the only negative was our roasties and yorkie puds were a bit dried out, serious need of gravy to bring them back to life, it was clean and it looks like we came near the end of the busy period as there were alot of people still there no one was queing for the carvey yet all the meat looked fresh and the addons were all well stocked including the gravy. one of the nice features of the Quay is its located at the end of the front and there's a really nice view of Dee estuary marshes and Wales, you can sit out on the large patio the price was good and the atmosphere faily chilled, the staff were polite and friendly, 4.5 out of 5
First time coming since refurb and food/atmosphere and service were great. Really good value for money and can't wait to return with rest of family very soon. Pizza was mega pizza and couldn't eat it all so I asked for a box to take home to finish it off. Win winFood: 5/5
Decent gaff friendly staff been here before and after the refurbishment was great both times breakfast and dinner had all you can rat breakfast first time and a nice 3 course meal second time shout out to Angela our waitress who was also great!Food: 5/5
Just had a lovely evening at The Old Quay. The food was fab Philly Burger and Carvery but it was the staff that made the night. A huge shout out to JP who was EXTREMELY tolerant of my lack of technical ability with app. All good fun and we felt very well looked after.Food: 5/5
Sunday Carvery Mandy was superb, friendly and approachable Guys serving at the Carvery were polite Bar service was slow due to high volume of customers. Allergy questionnaire completed before ordering. Recommend more staff to cope with the influx of people Manager on duty was very helpful with questions asked Overall bill £200
