Old Loans Inn

Had a great 2 night stay, and went for dinner there both evenings. The meals we had, along with the 2 breakfasts, were excellent. The staff were very efficient and attentive. The only thing preventing a full 5 star review is that we were given a room right next to the lift, and the noise from it disturbed our sleep a bit. However, overall it's a lovely place and good value for money.

My wife and I decided to try the old loans inn as it was different from where we would normally go. The food was amazing , one very small negative would be the bread roll that accompanied the soup was cold there for hard to eat but the rest of the meal was really good. The staff were so friendly and very attentive. The food is reasonably priced aswell and there was a nice atmosphere. We would definitely dine here again.

My husband and I made a spur of the moment decision to book lunch and it was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted by a lovely man who showed us to a very nice wee booth. He took our order for drinks and we were ready to order food when they arrived. We ordered a starter and main course. I nipped to the loo incidentally, they are immaculate, if there were no tables, I'd probably have eaten my lunch in there, no joke, they are gleaming, impressive and when I returned the starters had been served, very quick service. They were delicious, faultless. When we were finished, a very well dressed man approached our booth smiling. I smiled back thinking he was walking passed but he asked if I'd finished my starter, that kind of confused me. I didn't realise he was staff. He's the best dressed waiter I've ever saw, like the venue, immaculate. We had another young lady serve us who was so friendly but not in a nuisance way, she was sharing her plans for her day off, not rushing us although I'm sure she was very busy, she made us feel like we mattered, if you no what I mean. The starters were amazing as were the main courses with staff making a quick check that we were happy with our order. It was disappointing that we couldn't fit in a dessert, maybe next time. All staff were lovey with the right amount of friendliness, professionalism and a knack of working while talking, perfect. The place is spotless, I don't say these comments lightly, I can be fussy, by my own admission but this was a joy from start to finish. I think we said goodbye to all the staff as we left, they were so friendly. I will definitely be recommending the Old Loans Inn Thank you so much, great staff team, emphasis on team, work perfectly together.

In general a very good stay again. However, on the second day breakfast service was not up to the usual standard. It did appear that there was not enough staff to cope. Also when we returned later in the day our room had not been serviced and although I immediately raised this it took too much time to provide us with our requirementsRooms: 5/5

Great location, lovely staff and perfect weekend away. From check in to check out, the staff could not have done more to make our stay a pleasant experience. I had the Baked Chicken Enchiladas with garlic salted fries, with Sticky Toffee Pudding to follow. Absolutely delicious. Good size portions and excellent service.Service: 5/5

Breafast was excellent however no both days were the same even though we ordered the sae thing. The room 210 was very comfortable shame about the huge water stain on the carpet. Evening meal was good, my mussels could have been cleaned better kept pulling out the beard. The staff are ver friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Did ask for sanitiser to be filled in the shower, after 2 days here its still empty. Overall thank you for a lovely stay

Can’t fault our stay. Friendly service, great food at competitive prices and the facilities were spotless. Easily accessible and a handy safe carpark. First class all round. Noteworthy details: Great attention to detail.

We were made to feel very welcome from the very beginning. The hotel also accommodated our dog too, especially with the sausage treats! Great location to beach and I highly recommend the spa facilities at the Gailes Hotel and Spa.Rooms: 5/5
